Dooley will not release Bryce Brown to Kansas State (Confirmed)

Says who? Dooley said he wasn't on the team at the end of the spring. Sure doesn't sound welcoming to me.

By just about every account, Brown, the former No. 1 recruit in the country, would be welcomed back by the Vols should he decide to return - and a verdict could be out as early as Monday.

But if Bryce wanted back, Dooley said, he could work his way into the lineup and would be welcomed with open arms. Several players echoed this sentiment.

Knox Vegas Vols | Does Bryce Brown deserve return to Vols?

He was referring to the fact that Brown chose to not participate in any activities. If Bryce came to him and said, "Coach I want to come back to UT" he would have been accepted back by every single person. He was just going to have to work harder to get back to where he was in the pecking order.

Dooley always made it clear that BB would be welcomed back if the team wanted it. It was clear and to say otherwise is not true.

Why is it that 'courage' would be to face the coach as opposed to just walking away? One could just as easily say BB had the courage to follow his own interests, with or without Dooley's blessings.

He really walked away fast.

If he attended the meeting, grabbed Dooley by the throat and told him to sign his release, would that be the kind of courage required?

Also, if that happened, would Derek pee in his pants?

You're the one talking about the value of the degree they can get, which I'm pretty sure they can't get in one year. Thus, one of the main points of your post is made up crap. Thus, it's a lie. Got anything else?

On the contrary, he can get the degree. All he has to do is abide by the terms of the contract he has signed with full knowledge.

Exactly which of the points in my initial post is "made up crap"?

UT estimates the cost of attending per year in state at- $22,061 per year. My estimate for 'a state school' was $15K.

Average per capita income for the US in 2009 was a shade above $39K. Look it up.

Extra benefits - what would you say medical care, food, and lodging would cost for a year? Throw in some clothes, books, etc.

You bandy the word "lie" about too much. It does not become one in an argument. You need to begin again.

Whether he asked in-person or not is somewhat semantical.

The fact is that the guy doesn't want to play for Tennessee. Why would you want to do anything to prevent him from moving along?

And its not like he's trying to transfer to USC or Florida. Its K-State. Who cares?

I don't see how refusing to release him brings anything beneficial to the program. In fact, for most of America, it probably makes DD look a little petty, if you ask me.

Not that it matters but I am moving off of this thread. Not wasting anymore time on a BB thread. I am going to spead my time on threads about kids that want to be a Vol and not a distraction. Go Vols!

Yet again, wrong. Brown could do everything UT asked of him and the school could still pull his scholarship anytime they wished.

What does UT's right to pull Brown's scholarship have to do with anything relevant to this situation? Directed to everyone arguing over that

IIRC, it was about a statement that coaches should be free to do what they want, but players shouldn't.
