I just dont agree with this hire. I dont think very many of us are satisfied in the least bit. But suppose Dooley comes in and does a good job. We win an SEC Championship in a year or two, and around this time Richt is getting fired at UGA. Dooley would leave UT for UGA in a heartbeat, and we would be back to square 1. Just a thought.....

I guarantee you that his contract won't allow it.

All these doomsday prophecies need to end, ok it happened once - and it sucked - but that isnt a strong enough reason not to try again. I think we hit a silent home run.

Hamilton would be a fool to not include that in his contract along with a larger buyout than Kiffin's.

I'm sorry but.....name a coach that would never leave.

There is no such thing as a silent home run.

No matter who UT hires, they could leave us holding the bag at any time. I am not worried in the least about a coach leaving town. They all do it eventually.

No he won't. No way Dr. Adams, the President of Georgia, would hire him, and he runs the show. Adams caught holy h@ll for firing his dad, and believe me, there is no lost love between the Dooleys and the Adams families.

If you are worrying about finding a coach who would never leave the program, we might as well stop playing football.

Who cares. Only way GA would want him if is he had massive success. At that point, I'm ok with it.

Didn't he go to Virginia even though his dad was AD at UGA. Doesn't exactly ring that he has that strong of ties there.

I've been watching the boards for a long time and finally decided to jump in.

Just think if he comes in and sucks then we'll be back to square 1. So does it matter if he leaves for UGA? I say Musschump is holding out for UGA and that's why he didn't except. La. Tech almost beat Boise St and LSU this year so we'll see what he can do with some talent. Go Vol

If Mack Brown doesn't leave and Georgia opens or LSU Muschamp bolts for either one!

You're fine with Tennessee giving valuable experience to a coach only for him to become wildly successful at a division rival? Oooook

If he does..I hope he takes you with him.....

Man, folks are on edge around here lately. Cant the guy express an opinion? It is something to be taken into consideration.

Having said that, I do not agree with OP's post. First, although I hope I'm wrong, I do not see us winning the SEC Championship in this year. So it would not be a one and done like the jerk who just left us high and dry. Second, I dont see UGA hiring him away unless he has done EXTREMELY well here. In that case, he would have returned us to prominence and we could hopefully have better luck luring a top name in here since he wouldnt have to rebuild. So, although I wouldnt want him to leave, we would at least be back up and hopefully have a good shot at getting a good coach to replace him.

Dont think he's saying he wants it to happen, but if it does it means we are back on top.

True, and UT has a long way to go before we get to "Leave for nothing but the NFL" status. I can't see Dooley leaving for an equivelant, or depending on his success, lesser job at UGA.

Best of luck to CDD, get to work and V,B!

Dooley wouldn't leave here after seeing how we reacted to Kiffin and he seems like a
"moral" coach anyways.
