I'm amazed how many people on here still buy what the quote "insiders" sale. If they bothered to research them in depth, they would see how full of sh_t they are. They are wrong 3/4 of the time if not more lol.

Has there ever been one that is correct? I sure can't remember one.

Dooley just refuses to give the fans a apology for how this team has performed. I hate him laughing his ass off as he's walking out with so many fans hurting over the Vols. How many times is he going to defend SAL's Defense? He is lucky we lost by 3 because on 2 runs we made shoe string tackles with no one in the back. Guy laughs at UT ...pisses me off . Every thing is one big joke to Richy Rich!

I noticed Dooley trying to make a joke about being on crutches when asked about the last timeout & why he didn't challenge the play.

There is no damn excuse for any HC getting paid millions of dollars to not challenge that call to try and save that last timeout. None.

I don't care if you're on crutches or in a wheelchair. That's not an excuse to have game management problems like that. That timeout would've been nice to have on that last drive.

It's always business as usual with Dooley. Making excuses and losing. Business is good.

There are plenty of honest ways to criticize Dooley and even support an opinion that it is time for him to go without the "excuses" thing. If there's one thing to admire about him is that he doesn't make excuses. He's honest about his failures and the failures of players. Like it or not, he's honest and blunt.

Want to see excuses? Dredge up some of Fulmer's later pressers.

Only one I can remember is the guy who called Chuck Smith parting ways with us after signing day. It was out of the back of the woods, but extremely Seal like.

Dooley owes no fan or media an apology. Get over yourself and try not to take football so seriously.

Ohh really? Are you so Blinded with Your Dooley hair crush that You don't understand How much the fans of UT football mean to the economy In east Tennessee? Do you realize how well this team has traveled in football and how it effects the following. Do you not think the Boosters can hear the fans? Did you see the crimson in the stands ...Your bad wrong when you think a 3rd year coach has yet to win a meaningful game does not owe the fans a Apology.

Man after that presser I pray we win out and Hart isn't listening to all the negative push to fire CDD. Good guy and knows what the problems are. Just needs the chance to get it to mesh just right. This D transition was known to be a hurdle and like he said our O needs to score 42 or 49 if they are able to get to 35. The corrections that will done in the spring after seeing all the holes right now will be big. I know the first half was big for USCjr but we controlled the 2nd half which is what everyone on here whined about last yr.

When every facit of the program needs to be rebuilt from the ground it's good to see parts getting repaired. OL and run game has been impressive, and shows that it is not just a "duck tape" fix either but a solid repair. Mainly with the OL. We get a top RB it will be sick. I believe our DL is solid as well. Now that key parts have been fixed well with good foundations the coaches can move some of the focus to other parts of the team like LB and mainly DBs.

Man I hope CDD gets to stay. I would hate to lose him and he move on to another team that will be more patient. Like a KY. Don't know how this place would be like if they were to take him, give him time, and becomes our headache for yrs to come. Some may think this is a reach but think about the experience he has and what he could bring to a program like KY. If he's out there and they are looking I would be surprised if he wasn't at least on thier list. If not then KY will prove that they truly don't care about thier football program IMO.

I don't hate Dooley, but he's not a winner. Even with an outclassed defense, this team should be 7-1. UF, UGA, Miss St, and USC. In year 3, he needed ONE of those. For whatever reason, it's just not happening. He has rebuilt the program, and now it's time to hand the keys to someone that can take the next step.

I appreciate what he's done, but don't understand how anyone can still think he's the man.

Yep....we lost the game because CDD called the last time out instead of arguing with the official...And--yes, I do agree that he should have challenged the play...but putting CP back to field the punt was a brilliant idea--but nobody on here has praised him for that...

Tiny played a GREAT game, except for one play...I say that we sit him for the rest of the year because he is worthless to this team for failing when we needed him most (sarcasm!)--that's how some of you panty-wearing, sniveling, "fans" sound for criticizing CDD ad nauseum for not challenging the call....:salute:

GO VOLS!

I appreciate what he's done, but don't understand how anyone can still think he's the man.[/QUOTE]

I think he hasn't had time for an HONEST AND FAIR assessment of whether he's the man or not. "For whatever reasons..."

1. Major lack of talent at DB--Randolph hurt against Fla hurt as much as losing JH on offense last year...Teague at DB is disaster...so is Brewer..No one knew how bad Moore was gonna play as EVERYONE was giddy at getting him from JUCO...no place to hide in the SEC..

2. Still young and not good enough at LB for the SEC...as good as AJ is--he's not fast enough--YET--to cover receivers or run down the speed sweep at the corner...and Lathers hasn't regained his pre-injury form...Good talent waiting to play as 41 Sapp has been a pleasant surprise this year...

3. CDD has built a killer offense--but it appears that you are not willing to give him ANY CREDIT for that...CDD had us in POSITION to win against UGA (CDD wouldn't let teh team quit--even when being down 27-10--no credit given to CDD for that), MSU, AND USC...and the players couldn't get it done--THOSE ARE FACTS!

4. I expected our D to have more sacks and get better pressure on the QB this year to cover some of our weaknesses at DB--and it just hasn't happened, yet...slow ILBs have been 1 step away many times this year...

I know that no one wants to hear any of these things...and that it's not worth the effort to write them down...folks have made up their mind...

I believe the D will be as improved next year as the offense has been this year...I still say CDD deserves our support for a 4th year! :salute: GO VOLS!

BTW I think Dooley has failed. It still doesn't mean he owes any fan an apology. Apologies are for lack of effort and indiscretions, neither of which are prevalent. If you feel like you or I are soooo important that we require an apology then you may be a lunatic.

Expectations are to high and changed through the season. No one on here would have said we would be 7-1 by this pt cause those same people would have said we should be 12-1 by the end of season. No one on here prior to the season said that. 7-9 wins was the consensus and still possible. Now that we see the product he brought out now all say we SHOULD be 7-1. What does that mean to me??? Improvement! Last yr we were whining about 2nd half failures and adjustments and this yr we are whining about 2nd half successes and adjustments.

Takes time to get things to finally all mesh. Spring could be used for evaluating and focusing on fixes that r needed. Some time given to the OL can be used in other spots and the OL can be built around cause its solid. Little by little.

Also saying Dooley isn't a winner is pushing it. I highly doubt that can be said once given the time to rebuild. Also to say the program is already completely rebuilt is being reaaalllyyyy optimistic.

Fixing major problems during the season is not the same as doing it in the spring and summer. Also we were getting eat alive on runs to the outside early in the season. We have improved there IMO. Issues at DB is something that's going to take a lot of focus in the spring now matter the coach.

I like Dooley, and I want him to succeed. But there is no excuse for how poorly the team played off a bye against MSU. This team is as talented, if not more, than the 2009 Kiffin team, and that team did more. No reason for losing every October game for three years.

I feel bad he's had to hitch his shot at major program success to Tyler Bray. Also, I think it's weird that Dooley and Sunseri are giving differing public responses to the defense. Dooley, "Completely stripped - couldn't be more simplified." Sunseri, "Still complex - haven't taken that much out."

Just don't see how he can come back after this.
