Dooley and Butch about same on field coaching. Dooley found ways to lose like UNC, LSU, UK and Vandy twice. Butch also lost to SC and Vandy twice but did beat UF without Meyer or Mushchump. Butch has made it to bowls and dominated big 10 with the help of his good recruiting. Only difference to me is Butch just a better recruiter than Dooley.

Butch has one year to get some assistants who can coach. Particularly on the offensive side of the ball, but he also should let Shoop bring some other assistants in if he wants to.

Butch exposed himself last year and confirmed this year that he is a rather inept player development coach and in-game tactician. That's actually not a huge problem provided you have guys underneath you who can coach these guys up. Butch is a salesman. Once you're exposed as only being able to recruit - guess what - you won't be able to recruit anymore.
