Brewer is no upgrade to all the guys who've left. Brewer spread<Meyer spread, which won't help recruiting at all. I'm ok with Dooley, really I am, but he better get some good assts! Why are we paying a guy so little unless it's to spend more on assts, like w lane?

I thought one of the reasons we stooped to hiring the LA Tech coach was that he'd keep the 'all-star' staff we have so we don't have to pay them too.

Could somebody summarize the total amount of money UT is paying to coaches on Hamilton-written contracts who are not coaching at UT?

This week just keeps getting worse.

The sky is not falling... get a grip. It's not like CDD came in and started firing coaches; the ones with ties to what's-his-name are gone. Good riddance.

Kippy is a real loss, but he has no fingerprints on the program, AT ALL. LT would be a loss. But if any of them interviewed with CLK and then CDD, my money would be on Dooley.

Give the guy time enough to put a staff together before going crazy. This thing is very fluid right now.

Anyone offically in as a new assistant coach yet? We now have 6 openings, is that right? RB's (Gran hasn't been replaced yet) QB(reaves) WR (Kippy) OL(Cregg),DL/RC( Coach O u bas t-rd ) and Monte(DC)

Nothing official as of yet but CDD is rumored to bringing Tech's DC and DB/RC with him to Knoxville. Also rumored to have hired or at least interested in bringing Oklahoma State's OC/WR coach.

Top 2 that I felt that we HAD to keep were Cregg and Thompson.

We'll lose 3 of the top OL recruits with Cregg leaving.

That was from yesterday, I don't think OSU goes out and hires Houston OC Dana Holgorsen unless they know Brewer might be leaving...

Cregg and Reaves, if let go instead of resigning, only get 1 more year salary and they were each at $150k.
Cregg -- 1 at $150k
Reaves -- 1 at $150k
Lame -- nothing
Ogre -- nothing, plus a poke in the eye
Monte -- nothing, but just paid $300k rentention 12/31
Kippy -- nothing
Wilson and Gran -- already gone, nothing

The way I see it...if we lose any recruits it wont be due to anything this new coach has done or hasnt done. I believe this coach will do very well but Im not expecting a miracle this next season by any means.

I would not mind keeping Chaney at OC, Thompson as DC, Garza where he is or moving him to make room for the guy from La Tech and building a beautiful staff around.

Not sure why Art Kehoe is at Redwoods, but his resume prior to leaving Ole Miss is very impressive.

I also do not expect Eddie Gran back, but I do believe he could work for this staff without feeling like he was being attacked in his soul.

if we got rid of kippy thats wrong. if kippy left us because he felt he didnt get a good interview, o well. The guy wasnt HC material. i kind of understand him leaving if we didnt give him the promised "fair interview" but in all honesty, he would not have gotten the job either way.

We need a new SpringBokVol list of these positions and candidates. Probably won't last as long as the last one... but who knows?

In reflection, I wonder if Gran's departure was our first signal that Kiffin's staff was beginning to fall apart in Knoxville.
