are you really this big of a poon? oh no, he slapped a kid w/ his helmet on, and actually showed emotion after a turnover. people like you are whats wrong w/ sports. my highschool and college coaches would cuss us, grab us on the back of the neck, push us, etc. we had no prob w/ it. how did we respond? played like we were mad at the world, actually played better.

btw i got you this

I assume that's actual-size, but make sure that you mother gets it back.

I played football for 10+ years.

Say what you will, but this is worse than anything Mangino did at KU or Leavitt did at UCF.

Likely, parents of our prized recruits won't mind this. If you don't think about it. Or if recruiting is somehow unimportant to us now.

OH YEAH! You are dead on...recruiting isn't important to us because we don't mind a coach that shows emotion on the sideline. 10+ years of football? Long snapper right?

He had just had his jock handed to him on the field with the hit that caused the interception! The little head slap he got was nothing compared to that! It's not time to start bashing him...It's time to get behind him! We have 3 weeks to get as good of a recruiting class as we can salvage! Remember guys...Our recruits read this board just like we do! Go Vols!

What a big baby.....I quess in the band you never got slapped. Half this team needs their bell rang. I like a good hands on coach.

First off, it was USF not "UCF" and this is nothing compared to that. Leavitt choked the kid and hit him in the "face" twice, not one slap on the helmet

Glad to see Dooley's going to wipe of the grime from the program. If we're going to hire a coach that slaps kids around, why not just go after Leavitt?

Here's another of him going irate on the sideline and berating a QB after throwing a pick (i.e. threw headset, glass of water, stormed after the kid, etc.):
YouTube - Derek Dooley loosing it!

Start at about the :50 mark.

Stay classy and violence free, Tennessee.

You must be a Kiffinite

His helment was one. My high school coach used to do that. Its not a big deal

I guess you would have liked it better after the interception if he had just clapped and patted him on the a$%. Where have we seen that before? Lord forbid we have a coach that may show some emotion on the sideline.

So........within 20 minutes of his announced hiring, I found a video of him doing the exact same thing that just got a coach at a larger school with a better pedigree ran off, not 4 weeks ago?

How did I find this and no one with UT AD has seen it?

If the hire wasn't enough, this should be.

Change is coming.

Come on thats no where close to what the USF coach did? get out of here with that crap

We don't know the context, he may have said, "you can do this." Little smack. Also, I would rather have a coach with enthusiasm and fire rather than Fulmer clapping and slapping behinds.

I think the video shows what we need in a coach, Fulmer was a puss and Kiffin was a weasle we need someone with a backbone!!!

You have just removed any doubt about your lack of knowledge of football.

Meh.....I've seen that from high school coaches. Do I agree with it? Depends on the situation and emotions at the time. For all we know the kid could have just made a big play and everyone was pumped up. We don't know.
