First, a little anecdote. Mick Cronin was an assistant to Bob Huggins at Cincinnati. He decided he needed to broaden his resume to get a head coaching job. To that end, he interviewed with Rick Pitino at Louisville without telling Huggs. He got the job. When he told Huggs he had gotten the job, Huggs smiled and told him "Congratulations. Good thing you got the job there because you weren't going to have one here anymore." If Wilcox is talking to Texas and contacting assistants at other schools about joining him in Austin, he should be fired immediately.

Wholeheartedly agree with this!

Agreed, or simply name him co-HC....because that's what the rest of the team / coaches will see him as if he's not immediately terminated.

I agree with this unless Justin was not upfront with the situation. If Texas made the first contact and Justin made Coach Dooley aware of it immediately, I see no problem.

There was a report saying he was trying to hire the ace recruiter out of Cal...i forget his name

Edit: Tosh Lupoi is the guy's name. He was rated the nation's best recruiter by Rivals. He coaches Cals d-line

I'd have a hard time with that. We know these kinds of conversations happen all the time.

If rumors are true that he's been shopping and he hasn't made a good case to DD as to why then 100% agreed. I don't see DD as the type to beg so if he stays I wouldn't be shocked if there wasn't or hasn't already been a come to Jesus meeting.

If it happened without permission from Dooley, I agree 100%.

I'm with ya... That would arguably elevate Dooley to legendary status in my eyes...

I agree as well.. If he did this behind Dooley's back.. Then he doesn't care much about this program or it's future..

I agree 100 percent. These coaches that are here one year and gone the next is setting a really poor example in my opinion. This "all about the money syndrom"(whether its so called business or not) is nothing but selfish greed! I thought contracts were drawn up so that at least you had to honor more than a year.

However, I say let him go and find or promote a DC that intends on staying here. One thing is for sure. Stay the hell off the west coast when looking for a coach. Wilcox and the serpent are both from the west coast systems! Tennessee needs to find a Southeastern coach who wants to stay here and work for the best school in the sec. Give em six!

Agreed but that is a big if. We have no idea at this point what has actually been said/happened. If JW continues to talk and has not rejected TX's advancements, I would fire him on the spot. See ya! Come on folks, he is good but not that good. And yes... I know we do not need any other coaching changes as it could hurt but if the man does not want to be here and having a tiff with CS that cannot overlook, then see ya!
