Dooley says Fulmer has been supportive

Please, don't remind me of jimmy ray stephens---one of the worst hires in UT history!

His bio at middle's site is hilarious! They pump him up like an allstar while he goes from NC Florida (fired) to lame duck Fulmer (fired) to middle.
Stockstill is an idiot for hiring him.

Of course Im not the only one who experienced those moments. Im just saying that it means something to bleed orange. You dont eat your own. Hell Im not even going to bash Lane or Ed, or Bill Battle. It serves no purpose. Johnny Majors and Phil Fulmer were our head coaches from 1977 until 2008----thats 31 years. More than most of you know it alls have been on this earth. They are legends at UT, whether you like it or not. But thats not the debate. The debate is whether it serves any purpose to come on here, night after night after night, and blast them or Phil, and foolishly say they were bad or inept coaches. It makes our fanbase look silly, childish, and downright ignorant.
Perhaps you are bored, or need something to make you feel important, or smart, or amusing. I just dont get it. And I know I just wasted my time trying to reason with those that know no such thing.............

I understand what you are saying and certainly dont have the 45 year + perspective that you do. I get upset when i see a mortgage rate over 6% - my father tells me that he remebers 16%. I get your point and respect the loyalty. But we arent morons - frankly there are alot of intelligent people here, they just happen to be opinionated and like to have a little fun (like most of the world). But dont think for a minute that we dont love the orange and white. As a member of the coif, you certainly are smart enough to understand that these boards are a medium to express opinions, whatever they may be. We have had some healthy and fun discussions on this topic - but we never resorted to name calling when someone disagreed with an opinion. Signing day is over, spring ball is over, months until august and i hate hockey and tennis. So why not talk about Phil?

Thought you were out. :dunno:

yeah - that was the plan but i had to google coif, queef, and shart. i figured with all that newfound information i should log back in and see what was going down

I understand.

Stay away from "boston pancake"....seriously!

I did not realize that talking bad was a crime.

I also did not realize that I am to believe what you say because you said it. Sorry, I don’t see that happening.

It's not a crime, but its pretty pathetic. Especially from an elder.

And then proceded to run Miami into the ground just like Fulmer ran us into the ground. Your point?
I'm in no way a Fulmer fan, but there's a huge difference between the situations. Fulmer inherited a good program, brought a lot of talent in (along with the help of a good staff), and had good success before the title.

Coker was given the best college football team of all time, and shortly destroyed all that.

I think the most telling stat about Fulmer's career can be seen looking at the SEC records in the mid-90's. There was a pretty long span where they beat every team in the SEC but the one with a really good coach. When other good coaches joined the league, he had problems.

Also, a major difference between Fulmer and Coker was that Coker ran his program into the ground because he had early onset alzheimer's. Phil just had a gland problem.

Fulmer should be apart of the coaching staff imo, just to help dooley along.

I agree, if you intentionally typed "apart" of the staff, meaning no part. But if you meant to type "a part", then heyall no!
