Dooley said he might appeal....

Ah...just lawyer talk....grabbing at straws.

The sub thing is true. I think if the offense tries to run a no huddle, then decides to sub, the offense has the right to sub as well. But i think our issue will be that they were all set and on the field. (sigh)

If they wouldn't reverse the Fifth Down game, they aren't reversing this.

I hope this is a joke. His behavior at the end of the game was sickening. He should have shook Miles hand and taken responsibility for the loss instead of coming up with some crap about LSU snapping the ball quickly and wasting his time trying to appeal a call.

Why's it sickening? I don't understand why we get so caught up in "being a good sport." The same thing came up during the Cleveland-Orlando series a couple of years ago. Respect your opponent, play by the rules, and give your all; that should be enough. I have no problem with Dooley getting caught up in the whirlwind of what happened. Good effort by our guys today. Georgia should be a good game next week.

If he felt like me after the swing of emotions, your lucky he didn't punch Les Miles right in the face. Dooley's gestures just mean he is giving his all for the team, and wanted to win as much as any Tennessee fan. I would have done the same exact thing if I were Dooley and just lost the game like that.

I would almost rather take our medicine and move on instead of winning on an appeal. If it was the difference between a 10 or 11 win season, maybe, but 5 or 6 wins is sad either way. Granted, 1 win will likely make or break a bowl game for us, but is going to the liberty bowl all that much better than staying home and feeling the pain of not being in a bowl?

He's turning into Darth Visor throwing his headset on the ground numerous times.

We should have just taken our time getting the correct personnel on the field. We had every right to do so. They have to give us reasonable time to sub. We just panicked. Time would have run out.

He might have a point if the D wasn't set. All of our D, with 13 players, were set. Dooley loses if he pursues it.

That's how I see it, too.

Dooley does have a point, though. The official is supposed to stand over the ball when the offense is subbing to give the defense a chance. That didn't happen.

ALL 13 WERE SET AND READY FOR THE FINAL PLAY! I have always wished for a money tree, but I always wake up and there is a Dogwood in its place. GET REAL!!!!!!

However.....when that dogwood is on it's game, there is no better tree to behold.

He says he will appeal the flag IF IT CAN reverse the outcome of the game.

His reasoning: LSU subbed quickly, and in reverse, UT has time to sub also since they subbed. But what he is saying is that UT did not get adequate enough time to get all the correct subs for them and they snapped the ball too quickly.

I don't think the Tennessee players were making any effort to get off the field.

Dooley's reaction should have been like John L Smith's reaction after the Michigan State game a few years ago.

I don't agree. He has fire. Fact is when Kiffin did stuff like this last year, we praised him.

Once he reviews the play, he will realize there is no case.

This. And how many times do we hear everyone, me included, criticize Fulmer for the hand clapping, etc.

I already deleted the game from my DVR so I cannot review.

My question per substitution rules, I know you cannot break the huddle with 12, etc... But, since LSU did not break a proper huddle, I am guessing the rule of substitution allowance is a bit grey? Is there point where a ref deems that no more subs can come into the game... ala, quickly sneaking a WR onto the field at the last moment, etc... I know LSU was running folks in and out during those last few moments. Is it as simple as the offense coming set for a legal count as per the ref before snapping the ball and starting play?

Regardless, I am personally not interested in overturning the ruling -- that is not my intent, I am just curious because it looked like the end of the game totally got out of control of not only both coaching staffs but the refs as well.

IP said that the ref wasn't over the ball during the subbing, which he is suppose to do.

LSU, UT, and the Refs all effed up big time the last few minutes of the game

If there ever was to appeal a game, then that would have been it. I don't think it's ever happened before (an appeal changing the outcome of the game). I honestly don't know.

What happens if the defense takes too long and the clock runs out? Just wondering, I've never seen that happen.
