Gawd!! Can't we just be happy we didn't get Cutcliffe? All these negative comments and we haven't even seen his presser. I'm telling you we were about to get Cutcliffe.....we need to thanking the football gods right now....we dodged a major bullet.

jawuan james said he was coming back to Tn this Sunday. If we hire this guy and keep the rest of the staff I think we keep 70% of the recruits. Plus i think he'll bring one person from Bama. This I just feel.

If anyone has an issue with a coach slapping the helmet of a player, then they've either never played football before or need to change their tampon.

I remember a few years ago when Bobby Knight popped one of his basketball players under the jaw to get his attention focused back on him (player was looking at the ground when Knight was giving him an ear full). First reaction was, "Oh noes! He didn't just do that, did he? Is that allowed?" and then the basketball commentators came on and told everyone that there was nothing wrong with that. The father of the player even came out and openly supported Knight's actions.

Not, if Dooley cocks back and uppercuts a guy chilling by the bench for no reason, then yeah, make a deal about that. If he knowingly mishandles an injured player, then make a deal about that. But popping a player's helmet in the huddle? Nothing wrong with that - it actually could be a good thing.

Hopefully, he doesn't start slapping around UT players--they will not put up with that like the la tech players do.

They will if they wanna stay on the team and contribute.

Not every kid is like Adam James who runs off to daddy. If a player is so soft that he can't stomach a coach thumpin' him on the side of the head when he has a helmet on, then I don't want him on the team. Soft and SEC football don't go together.

Come on dude are you serious with this media clip?

Coach Dooley was simply trying to gain the attention of that young man or light a fire underneath his azz. That is what we need more of at Tennessee. A fired up coach trying to ignite some attitude in players. You never played football past high school if you don't think this goes on at all football institutions. The difference is that these damn journalist/media figures blowing things out of proportion to create that "shock and awe" factor to sell papers and make headlines. 10 years ago this stuff with leach and Jim Leavitt wouldn't make the headlines. I say welcome folks to the "USA Today". makes me sick!! Go Vols and Goodluck Coach Dooley!
