Dooley Presser...

Hindsight is 20/20. If he didn't sub you'd want his head for not having the right goal line package to stop them.

Of course you don't want him to sub. You know that LSU was going to fumble. He didn't. Hard to stop a run from the 2 yd line when your players don't match up well.

I can go the rest of my life without reading the term "presser." I have yet to see anyone use that term without coming off like a complete tool.

Dooley was saying the rule is that if the offense subs, the refs must give the defense enough time to sub as well. Said he had the same problem in the first half when they ended up having to call TO, and Dooley had brought up the same issue with the ref after that play.

This is true. Expect an apology from the SEC office on Monday.

Sadly though, if you are an SEC team, and ranked, these breaks will almost always fall in your favor.

There is a history...

I'm a Dooley fan...and feel he was the best choice during this time @ Tennessee (even though the initial announcement of him as Coach was kind of a surprise to me)...

I also feel he's done an excellent job in many aspects from his "Day 1" on the job.

However...after just listening to him on the Post Game DD Show...I'd respect him MUCH more if he'd just say...

"This one is on the coaches...and so therefore this one is on ME."

"My coaches did not do a good job of having the players ready for ALL 60 minutes and made mistakes especially within the last :60."

"So...we'll ALL learn from this and begin work towards Georgia next week."

THAT^^^ is pretty much all that needs to be said.

Just my opinion....

Pretty positive that all 13 players were set in position ready for the ball to get snapped.

I guess Dooley doesn't want to hold himself or his staff responsible for their screwup?

every football team since leather helmets has a counter. An assistant coach or player responsible for counting how many people are on the field before every play. Sometimes it's a different one for offense and defense. Who was the freakin' counter??? IF it's a coach fire his ass and send a message!!! The stupid stuff has got to stop now!!

If you watch that snap again you'll see one of our dbs is actually talking to the sideline when the ball was snapped, he was not set at all. You could make a case for us making the subs thinking the official knew the rule, in which him standing on the ball giving us the proper time would have killed the clock.

Why sub at all? That's what I have a problem with

Its easy to second guess when you have a clear view of everything going on via the TV camera.

We had enough time to sub. They were down at the snap. It is very different (time wise) when you're on the sidelines in the heat of the battle, I'm sure.

Cut the guy some slack. He just got his guts ripped out.

If LSU subs by rule the ref is suppose to stand over the ball so the defense can make subs but let me remind you this was the same crew that screwed up the UF and Arkansas game last year.
