1. Everybody loved it. It showed he wanted to beat Florida, and that's what we needed.
2. Everybody at Florida hated it. That's what we needed, mainly, a rivalry that's actually a rivalry, not some game that we play every year, lose by 30+ points, and act as if we still destroy them

There's nothing that Tennessee fans wanted more during Fulmer's tenure than to beat Florida. Kiffin knew that, and from the very beginning, made that his job. Sure, he couldn't beat a Top 3 team in the country, but to say he wasn't making progress toward that is asinine.

Wait til you see how many are thrilled Dooley is on our sidelines the next four years. Watching sheep like you lead to slaughter will almost make the putrid product on the field the next five years palatable.

Seriously, there are plenty of rational reasons to dislike Kiffin. If you choose to overlook them, that doesn't mean that everybody else needs to do so as well.

I feel like pretending Kiffin wasn't succeeding is revisionist history... We were on track to be rebuilt into a contender by 2011. Anyone who says we weren't now is lying to themselves, or is named posivol.

Yet, I watched an old man get his ass handed to him in Atlanta this past season, and his son looking like a deer in front of headlights during the game against Va. Tech. That was almost as embarrassing as the Ole Miss game. Sorry, I saw some improvement, but it's not like Kiffin made UT football relevant again. That's why I will never defend him, he did absolutely nothing to get us back to relevant during his time here. Kiffin's stay here reminds me of a Jerry Springer Show.

this is turning into a kiffin thread- i wanted it to be more about dooley bc kiffin is gone ( and dead to me )

i mean what are your alls thoughts about how dooley has handled himself...i mean i like that we have someone now that people respect....but does Dooley and Cryer have to "LIKE" eachother?

Embarrassing, false accusations against other programs.
Recruting violations.
Posting USC photos in UT facilities.
Drunken car wrecks.
Lack of sportsmanship after the bowl game and disrespect to Frank Beamer.
Blowout losses to Ole Miss and Virgiania Tech.
Very poor play calling on the goalline against UCLA.
Very poor clock management against Alabama that cost us the game.
Hostessgate.

Like I have said before, if he handles himself better as his tenure finished, and didn't drag UT's name in the mud as he left, I wouldn't be saying anything like I am.

There is no mistake that Kiffin brought the swagger back and made UT relevant in a national way.

Dooley is a ho hum kind of guy that kills you with kindness and his brain. He will out smart you to death.

You can't compare Kiffin and Dooley in this regard because they go about it in very different ways, but I promise you on gameday Dooley is not anyone's friend.

I wouldn't care if they were playing golf together this week down in Hoover, AL. I just want to see CDD "bring it" on the field come fall. Urban Cryer does suck though.

I move on within a couple of days of something like this happening. A lesson many on this board could use.
