Dooley Peace Treaty

The only occupation I'm involved in is the one where pooch and I live in a tent on Freaks' lawn until he awards us the title of VN Guru.
I don't know the last time they awarded those banners, but someone might consider either awarding some more to newer members or doing away with that title. #hint

I take pride in that I haven't thrown Dooley under the bus this whole time. I have had certain opinions of different things that have happened but never voiced it here. Dooley must perform better and he knows it...enough said.

and the Vols are moving in the right direction.
IMHO, the two things we need in 2012 are, bring in good talent, not street thugs, and have patience.
It is quick and easy to destroy or tear down but, hard and time consuming to build an empire of talent with dignity.

Over the past season, I have been very critical of Derek Dooley. I believe, that while I have been justified in my argument, the time has come to bring peace to Vol Nation. I have been banned a few months ago for being aggressively critical of Dooley and his supporters. While I am not a Dooley supporter, I do believe that Coach Dooley has made qualified selections to fill his staff. I now believe that now is the time for healing and that is needed now. What I propose is a 6 month peace treaty that would require all posters to refrain from negative or critical posts for the next 6 months. Please join the peace treaty by commenting.

A peace treaty with you is like one with the Taliban. They like you will happy talk and then stick a knife in the back. Actions will speak louder than words. Try to act like you have a brain rather than act on your emotion of the day.

As if anybody cares about Dagreek1998 wanting a peace treaty...go somewhere else...

This is a step in the right direction. Nobody was in the war with you in the first place and I think it is this us vs them war mentality of people who went after Dooley that was so annoying (as if any of us have a right to demand that any coach gets hired or fired - that is why we have AD's and they get paid excellent money to be competent and make those decisions if/when necessary).

I am truly sorry for starting this hornet's nest of a thread. I was simply trying to lead by example as a person who has been critical over the past season. I believed I needed to get this off my chest. For those of you that have taken my heart felt apology and have came back at me with angry barbs, fine be that way. I can not change you opinion of me and I promise you all I will not lose any sleep worrying about it now. For those of you that have accepted my gesture of peace, I say thank you and I truly look forward to rooting on the vols this coming season. I thank you all.

I think this sounds great, but If you are going to do it, why not hold all neggetivity until after the first game. Let's see what product he runs out on the field, take a look at any philosophical changes he has made, and then start making judgments on who this guy really is. Without question we will know by the end of the season what we have here. However, either way it would be a nice change to not hear and read all the neggetivity about the program.

Real silly.

Dooley needs to win. The guy is a helluva a recruiter, very well spoken and incredibly intelligent. Next year will be the year that we will know if Dooley is the guy for the job or it is time to move on.

Right now he has not shown me anything as a game day coach to say he is the guy, and I hope like hell he proves me wrong.

Wow, lots of hostility toward someone who decided to start anew.

I'd love to see a few more people grasp the difference between lively debate and incessant bug-eyed trolling!
