Only coached 1 year and Dennis Dodd list Dooley on the hotseat.Dooley would not be on the hotseat this year if Vols only win 5 games.Read it for yourself.

If he won 5 games, his ass would be on fire heading into 2012.

5 wins would mean a loss to either Montana, Cincy, Buffalo, MTSU, Vandy or UK. Any of those will really make people angry

At the current moment, Dooley isnt even on the bubble... If he only wins 3-4 games this season, he should be fired. No way that happens though IMO...

When you have a schedule that includes the 4 out of the last 5 NC's and the top three predicted teams in the west with road trips to Gainesville and Tuscloosa, 6 wins seems like it would be a great thing.

look at the list I posted above and tell me why 6 wins is "great" with this schedule. It should be the bare minimum

On a side note, I love how some of the older coaches have ties on their records; Paterno, Beamer, Snyder, etc.. In today's "we need a win or loss, sudden death overtime" world, ties don't happen anymore. I sometimes miss the old days of "for 60 minutes both teams played their best and the outcome was a tie" days.

I really believe Dooley will be the coach at Tennessee for at least 10 years or longer. We really won 8 games last year so we should win at least 8 games this year because I think we will beat Georgia and Florida and all the OOC games, plus we may beat USC also.

I read it "On the bubble -- you never know" I guess this guys average will be high because I think he has every coach on the list.

If Dooley wins 5 this year, he most certainly will be on the hot seat. As tough as the last few years have been, UT has still beaten the teams they were supposed to beat, except for UCLA. If they win 5, that means losses in "CAN'T LOSE" games. I love Dooley, but regardless, he still has to show improvement every year. This is UT football.

He shouldnt be fired no matter what happens until at least 3 years. Then we can see his recruits and how well he developed players. People would be angry if he only one 4 or 5 games this year, but it shouldnt get him fired till we see his recruits and players which will at least be 3 years. Just my opinion

the top 15 coaches on the hot seat (ranked 15-1), according to that list:

Not sure I agree if Dooley is the 12th highest hot seat coach, especially if it's the same heat index as Porter, Nutt, Callaway, and the already fired Davis.

with all the problems caused by kiffin and fulmer, dooley should get at least 3 years to turn it around, not 2.
