I knew I would get the responses I got with my previous question. I too feel like I was reading to much into his statement. I think CDD wants to be here now and for several years. I really hope he succedes here. I would love to get back to where we were in the 90's. Does everyone know that UT won more games in the 90's than anyother D1 football program. Would have been nice to have won 2-3 more championships. I feel the future looks bright for our program. A few rough years right now then hopefully 10 win seasons after that.

He has an excellent point. Would you rather have the 5 * that gets you on probation, gets injured, or leaves after one year or would you rather have three three stars. If one leaves, does not pan out or gets hurt, you have people to take his place instead of playing walk ons. There is an argument for both but at some point you have to fill up the roster with some talent.

I like his attitude about the whole thing. Only 72 scholarship players but Dooley is confident that this will change.

He is glad to be here and he doesn't even sound to be trying to make excuses.

No excuses would be nice for a change.

We at Tennessee have heard too many excuses over the years.

I look forward to the season win or loose! i look forward to watching the freshman grow and become great players in the future. I look forward to the upset game that will happen, (Hopefully Fla) I just hope that dooley is not to conservative with the play calling. AKA Afraid to loose... you know 3 yard bubble screen on 3rd and 10 i hate that let'em play...

With our depth, I believe the more we can shorten the game, the better. More runs, more time between snaps, short completed passes with the occasional long one. On defense, take chances by going after the turnover and QB sacks.
