If he comes back he comes back...if not oh well.

This sounds very similar to what was said when his withdrawal from the University was announced.

Has something changed?

It may be something as simple as JJ was told he was going to be drug tested. Only way to avoid it was withdraw from school....get clean..and maybe he can pass it in a few weeks. As CDD said..."It's in his hands". I may be way off here...but something tells me I am closer than alot would like to admit. JMO

I know he's a great talent but I am more worried about Brewer being back than JJ. Jackson is an undersized safety who will through his own choice miss most of the offseason program.

Brewer just recently posted one of the fastest 40's on the team and has great size. Some of you may go nuts but Brewer has the better upside as a safety right now.

Thoughts and prayers sent for JJ. Hope he is able to get his life on track, and get back to playing football for the Big Orange.

Don't hang me for this, but a friend of mine from Lake Charles,LA heard JJ was in a drug rehab program.

Can't say I agree with you, but regardless.

Our two best Safeties and CD's "Best Player on the Team" are out indefinitely.

Ouch. :ermm:

Could be .. but I also think its a semester that he doesnt have to worry about grades and attending class .. this way he has one more semester of "putting up with that part of it" before he goes pro.

Brewer is 6'2", 210 and reportedly runs a legit sub 4.4 forty. That makes him a very rare commodity. JJ is a stretch at 6' and hasn't been able to put on alot of weight. He's still playing below 190 IIRC. Ideally, he would slide to CB anyway. BB is nearly the ideal body to play S.

I think if he had a drug problem he would've been permanently let go from the team and wished well. That wouldn't be tolerated like this at all. Remember he went home before the bowl game and DD hoped he'd get back for the game. That doesn't sound like a rehab issue at all. And I definitely wouldn't spread an unsubstantiated rumor like this that could ruin his reputation. I'm sure there are all kinds of stories out there. Everyone wants to be the person in the know.

Per John Brice TOS

"We expect him back, but we'll see. It's in his hands."

he is meeting regularly with Dooley. I'm sure he has to be making progress on whatever path he is taking. if not, then Coach might have to act. Thus, it is in Janzen's hands to perform..

that is my take on comment..

I honestly do not think ANYONE who has been paying attention to the JJ situation would question if he had a drug problem or not. It is pretty well known he likes the weed. If the kid is trying to deal with it...good for him. I for one am not alright with allowing a kid to just leave school to keep him eligible if that is the case. I HOPE it is not. Alot of things point to JJ just trying to wait it out....enroll just in time to play the season and I would look for him to just leave school right after. Something tells me this could not look very good to people considering spending a draft pick on him. JMO:unsure:

Why don't everybody just go home during the spring and come back in time for the next season! JJ is a liability both on the field and off.
