Dooley needs more time.

Well, just to get you caught up, water is actually H2O and the US put a man on the moon.

I know water and I know space walkers ... has nothing to do with the fact that I was willing to give Dooley a pass because Richt simply has more team speed than we do. I can't give him a pass against that bunch of rag tags?

We should win that game, period. I don't put it on Bray, and don't even put it on the defense. I put it on game plan and preparation. Did Bray make some lousy decisions in that game, yes? Did he call those plays where he was asked to make perfect throws 20+ yards down the field when we needed 8 yards for a 1st down, no?

Outcoached plain and simple. If you have more talent than the other team and you lose without turning the ball over a BUNCH, you got outcoached. In the most crucial game of his career at TN, he was a no-show.

I have tried to support Dooley and dread going thru another coaching change, however, I cannot continue supporting a coach whose team keeps making the same stupid mistakes over and over again. It's almost like watching the Bad New Bears at times. We look so fundamentally unsound I just don't see things ever improving. If I have to watch Lathers or one of our other LB's get beat trying to cover a tight end or RB again I may vomit.

He has no talent on Defense.

Are you serious?!? Lets go back and review some facts, not opinions, but facts:
Who decided to hire our DC and switch to a 3-4?-Dooley
At the 2012 Sec media days who said we have depth on both sides of the ball?- Dooley
Who also said you won't have UT to kick around anymore?-Dooley
Who also said there will be no more excuses?-Dooley
Who deserves to and will get fired by the end of the season?-Dooley

You may now leave while we focus on getting a real coach.

What if
Florida wins out
Georgia loses to Florida
Mississippi State loses to Alabama and LSU

Then Tennessee will have lost to
a Florida 12-0 team; a Georgia 10-2 team and a Mississippi State 10-2 team.

Don't believe in moral victories but do believe in reality. Hoping that last year was the bottom of the barrell. I remember all too well what happened during the Battle years and how long it took to rebuild after that. Sure that was then and this is now. The season is half over but it is not over.

Challenge: Name some coaches that took over at historically great (say top 10-15) programs that were ultimately successful and DID NOT have things rolling by their 3rd year, no matter the state of tue program when they took over...they are rare if you can name em at all...only one I can think of in last 50 years is Johnny Majors.. Dooley is a joke...nice guy but he'd never done anything to deserve this job in the first place

I have always supported our players, and coaches but never this HC. He was hired out of panic and in over his head from the start. I'm not saying anything bad about him at all, but just stating simple fact. I don't blame him for accepting Hamilton's offer and taking the money, but he has done nothing that says he was qualified. Name me one coaching search in the last 6 years that had him on their list before Hamilton took him.
All my confidence has always been with the staff coaches. He is a decent mid major coach at best thats it. Not everyone is a head coach. Look at Wade Phillips, he's been fired at every HC job he 's ever had, but he is one of the best DC you will ever find.
Time to cut the losses. How many mor empty seats (lost revenue) do you need to see? Must we lose to every SEC team we play first?

Wasn't the point behind switching to a 3-4 the fact that it suited what talent we did have better? If that's true then we may be seeing a better defense than what we would've seen under the old system which is frightening but wouldn't surprise me. Is it unreasonable to expect them to have learned it in less than a year? One would think they'd have it together by now but I don't know much about the 3-4 or how difficult it is to learn.

That said, the defense got a whole lot better in the second half. If they could play like that from start to finish we might have a chance to win some games. Our offense is still dangerous and the run game way improved but defense giving up points and big plays does knock them out of sync/demoralize them (on field leaders need to step up and help in this regard that includes Bray but there needs to be more than just him).

I believe the defense can play bigger and better than they have and I hope they do. We need a leader to step up there as well and to remind others not to cave to frustration or giving up a big play.

I'm also more concerned with supporting the team right now than anything else. A demoralized fanbase isn't good for the team. IMO, they need us -- the fans -- to stand by them right now. The last thing they need is for us to add to the chaos and problems by pitching hissy fits, staying home, dogging our players, or hoping we lose just to get rid of Dooley. Confidence and believing that it's possible despite whatever odds goes a long way to winning -- it really does.

It's ok and natural to be frustrated but we also need to suck it up stand behind our team. Whatever happens next, happens, but let's not be part of the problem.

Sir with all due respect I have and continue to support the players. Just this year my family and I have been to the Ga state, UF,NC State games and still have Mizzu and kentucky to go. I have been paying for and attending multiple games since the early 80's. I support the heck out of this school and the Knoxville community as a whole. Keeping this guy any longer is hurting not helping.

Why did Dooley pull Darr last night after 1 bad punt. It looked like he had gotten his act together this season, and then dooley benches him because of 1 shank? Yes, it was one of the worst shanks I've ever seen, but still...

So losing to those means does what for Tn ? make you feel all giddy inside ?
what IF Tn had a real good coach and we beat everybody on our schedule and we play for the NC ?

Because mistakes cost you the bench.

we have more talent on defense than Vanderbilt yet their defense looks light years ahead of ours. That falls on coaches not having our players prepared and playing with confidence.

Some people needed a swift kick to reality on here.

Was lack of talent and depth the reason we lost to Kentucky last year too?
