EVERYONE from the media to the fans to the players to the recruits understands that if TN is going to hire a HC - NOW - we're screwed. So, why not let Kippy keep the reins and work out of the limelight on a coaching hire that will make everyone go ... DAMN!

Will we lose recruits in the short-term? Yep! We are already. Will we lose 2011 all-star recruits? Yep! The same way we will with an unproven, losing WAC coach in charge.

BUT ... Could we make up for all that with a grand-slam hire (the way our dear crimson friends to the south did)? Yep!

This knee-jerk (accent on the jerk!) reaction to find a warm body before Sunday is a joke. As, it could be argued, is our illustrious AD!

Well I've already voiced my opinion on Dooley and it wasn't pretty BUT has anyone actually looked at their schedule from 2009. Sure Tech had a losing record BUT it's not really that bad considering the schedule...tougher than I even thought.

The guy MIGHT turn out to be a good choice,but even if he is.Its gonna take 4-5 years for the program to be relevant,and by that time if he does bring the program back to life{witch I seriously dough}someone will hire him away.Hey hammy go ahead and get ya a u haul truck,,your gonna need it SOON!!Cant wait to see how much TN is gonna pay this LONG shot of a hire.

Tennessee does have a great program and is rich !!!!!! oh so rich !!!!!!! in fans that are idiots. The majority of whom I'm sure would consider themselves to be a pick for HC. What a bunch of cry babies and whiners. The attitude sent to the recruits is enough reason to leave UT. Grow up already. :stop: being such jerks!!!!! GO BIG ORANGE !!!!

This just makes it easier not to worry about next year. How in the world could a university like UT end up like this. Urban, Meyer, Saban, Brown, Spurrier......Dooley.

hopefully we keep pippy,pants and bring back trooper and fire hamilton fulmer can become ad and over see dooley. what happened with cutcliff? he would bring stability back to the program plus he coached peyton and eli. Did you people forget

Now I remember very well, the day oh Dooley hired... Vol fans all looked sorry, and said Hammy should be fired... Now Dooley's on The Hill, I guess it is too late... Call in extra security, cause the fans are gonna be irate... Dooley, slippin up the hollar, Dooley, tryin to make a dollar, Dooley, give me a chance and I'll pay you back someday...

I think this will shake out as a good hire. Dooley's young and motivated, plus may pull some texas boys our way. Same mold of coaches as Muschamp, Saban, etc. I do not fear for our defense at all. However need to get a good OC...

IMO Hamilton approached every name mentioned on this board as a possible candidate, and no one was interested. No one knows how Dooley will do, he's a smart guy, an attorney, so lets give him some time before we dismiss him. There were no better options, Hamilton approached at least 10 different coaches, before he settled on Dooley. It is what it is.
