I will be the first to say I am still all-vol and have been a fan for 33 years and that will never change. And I do understand that we lack depth, etc. But teams have won games with worse talent that we have on this team. We are not coached very well, we are as sloppy of a football team as i have ever seen. It is getting to the point where it is embarrasing, we have turned into Vandy this year. Some of the mistakes come from poor coaching and I am starting to wonder if dooley is in over his head. I am starting to think that he would have been a better candidate to take over Mike Hamilton's job rather than the head coaching job, because I like his values and the direction that he wants to go in, but as a coach i dont think that he will get it done. Hopefully he will though and i will be proven wrong.

Doesn't matter. You're officially not a true fan.

I am listening to his press conference online and he said that a team should improve as the year progresses unless it is riddled with injuries.

As a whole team, we have not improved. IMO, Dooley is in over his head. Hopefully he'll prove me wrong.

I'm not sure anyone can really evaluate it at this point. New system, new coaches, new faces all over the field, inexperience everywhere and a tough schedule. I'm not sure how one could make it a helluva lot better.

LSU handed us 4 turnovers to make that outcome appear better, but I just don't seen anywhere else that it can get a lot better. Can't play without a QB or defense.

If anyone is missing the nearly unbelievable issues on our defense, then they should simply stop talking. Our defense is as bad as imaginable right now. Some of it is scheme, some execution, some talent, but it's all bad.

Ok so what team has won with a 260 LB walk on freshman starting at DT, a guy that we had move to OL and then had to switch him back to play DT in Victor Thomas, Gerald Williams who doesn't even weigh 250 lbs, a walk-on MLB, Art Evans, a converted WR that made the move to corner a month before the season, a guy that has been in minor league baseball playing safety and has become our best safety outside of Jackson because Waggoner is terrible and Wolfe is a walk on.

Also find me a team that has won with virtually an All-Freshman offensive line, and a team that has their two senior WRs hurt throughout the year.

So if you are going to make the statement that teams have done this before, please show me this and please take into consideration that not only is that a problem but there is not depth behind some of the awful players that are starting.

4 of 5 losses to TOP 10 teams, one of which we almost won. Underacheiving?!? With our roster and scheldule?!? You can not be serious!

Underachieving????? NO I don't hardly think so, not one "expert" predicted us to win in Oct, beat FL or the Ducks. We have shown flashes, we played two number 1 teams this year and in both we stayed right with them for 2 1/2 quarters, we dang near beat another top 10 team. I would not call that underachieving! Granted I wouldn't say we are overachieving by any means but we have beaten who we should.

It's bad, but the lack of fundamentals is what bothers me. The possession where we had like 4 straight penalties on offense was embarrassing.

Remember a lot of people were predicting a 2-6 start.

I started a thread about it before the season and was told that I was a negavol for it. Its not hard to see that we dont have enough beef to serve a Krystal burger. We have no speed, blah....... There was absolutely no reason to believe that we would be better than 2-6. I hoped like others that we would be better than that , but thats all it was ,,HOPE!

This is overplayed. UF is not a top 10 football team. LSU as a top shelf D with an absurdly conservative coordinator and no offense to speak of whatsoever - top 10 talent, but coaching and QB make them essentially a top 25 style squad.

AL is legit. Oregon is legit, but beneficiary of very down year in college football.

Yet, overall we don't get that many penalties and with this many young players that is impressive.

Also, the players with lack of fundamental such as Evans and a few others didn't have fundamentals when Kiffin and in some cases where Fulmer was the coach.

Freshmen aren't going to look fundamentally sound. The ones that are not freshman who look bad have always looked bad.

I was hoping like you too, but when you look at our depth and what our schedule was going to be, you just use a little common sense to see what could happen.

not sure which fundamentals we're missing? We do make mistakes but have minimized them for the level of inexperience we have. We tackle poorly, but I don't see that as fundamental.

The most glaring issue for this site is the men on the field problem, which is a coaching issue, but it's not going to beat us very often.

We have NO DEPTH and are playing mostly freshman out there. The quicker people learn this the easier it will be to take this season's bumps and look forward to next 2-3 years.

been following for 45 years. Worse talent and experience that I have seen in 45 years. No wonder that coaching is struggling.

I will be surprised if the fan base can end up supporting this coach in the long run. If so, this year is how many years will look in the future.

No big name will look this way as many aren't interested anyway due to the effort required to bring in recruits needed to compete. We don't show support, the pool of candidates will grow smaller. We won't pay Saban money..

I've always feared when Fulmer left, for whatever reason, if Tennessee would not go through several coaches trying to find one willing to put forth effort required and one the fans could support. We run this guy after 3-4 seasons, we will be in a cycle of coaching replacements every 5 years for a long time IMO.
