Dooley is not the answer

Need to chill after a crappy lose and look at it like this. He hasn't had his time yet to get it right with the players he wants and experoience. Agree that he shouldn't even be considered for firing. In couple years if it aint good then i would say lets look around.

i believe his contract is up after next year. if we don't win 8 games hart needs to make a switch.

i'm not mike tyson bro.lol. he is gonna get another year, i'm just saying when we finish 500 again next year he has to be let go. the coaching on both sides of the ball is terrible. if the kids don't get the concept well then it is on the coaching staff to simplify. dooley is not the answer, but hamilton has backed us into a corner with a below average coach that you really can't get rid of till his contract is up. I have no faith in the guy at all.

I think next season is too soon to judge Dooley, as well. We won't REALLY know if coach Dooley is capable of winning a championship until the end of his 5th season...if we let the boy get that far.

Right now, we have a scrappy coach, a scrappy staff and a scrappy bunch of kids who want to win. If we keep that fire burning, the winning on the field will take care of itself, if given time.

I, for one, hope Coach Dooley gets to finish a 5th season on Rocky Top. If you are right about him, the assesment will be a fair one, if the Vols aren't on a trajectory to win 10 -12 games per season.

However, with the way Dooley goes about his business, if the Vols are on a trajectory to win 10-12 games a year at the end of his 5th season...it won't just be an Urban Meyer flash in the pan. I think he is building the foundation for a Bobby Bowden type career.

end of story

You sir are the proof positive that cousins should not marry and have children. They have complete morons for kids. There is not a coach in the country that could do better with the circumstances under which CDD took over this team. Get with the program and start supporting your team or go be a Bama fan. They like idiots like you.

We have some fans, who frankly are not very intelligent. They expect Tennessee to go out and win every game and blame the coaches when we lose. Sure coaches will always receive some blame and rightfully so, after a loss.

However, when fans start throwing the coach in the hot seat less than two seasons on the job, I question their sanity and their intelligence. The Vols football program was crashed into the ground by Phil Fulmer. Kiffin cleaned out the malcontents and brought in some recruits, but most of those good recruits left the program.

Look at the roster and you will see that I have highlighted the name sof the guys who play a lot of minutes for UT. Look and see how many are juniors or seniors. Then compare them with the number of sophomores and freshmen who are playing.

I counted 6 seniors, 6 juniors, 15 sophomores, 11 freshmen, who are playing the bulk of significant downs. That is a very young football team that is playing much more experienced teams. Think about it and think about the reality of where this program is at this time.

Leaving the stadium last night all I could think about is wanting Dooley fired but that was all out of frustration with how poorly we played. I do think Wilcox should be canned after the season. Nothing he has ever done has impressed me and a lot of the mistakes our defense makes isn't youth its coaching and discipline. I love Dooley but he is going to lose a lot of the fan base the next few games. Even though everyone expects what is coming. The offensive line has 2 losses for us. Youth is not an excuse for being soft. They don't fire off the ball. Their pass blocking is okay, only because you don't have to be physical to do that. Everyone knows we can't run the football with that offensive line. And you can't win in the SEC if you can't run the football. No exceptions.

i believe his contract is up after next year. if we don't win 8 games hart needs to make a switch.

8 games is a resonable measuring stick for next season but, remember...UT's opponents will have something to say about how many wins they get, as well.

The Vols aren't competing in a vaccum, friends. We are fans of a rebuilding job...one that has to compete against established, high quality coaches and players every saturday. There are at least 4 championship level programs on the Vols schedule every season, along with at least two other programs on the verge of being championship calibre. That means 6 very good, to great, opponents from now to infinity.

Kiffin and crew left the Vols program at the foot of a mountain...not a hill...it's a long climb to the top. There wasn't an established coach in the country willing to start that climb...but Dooley took on the task.

Heck, the guy embraced it and he has the tailored Orange slacks to prove it.

There's an awful lot to be proud of, already...if you want to see it.

We may get 4 spankings in the next 5 games.

Of course, we may beat MTSU and have that used as an example of the program's progress.

I don't know why anyone was expecting him to be able to win important games in the SEC. It seems like almost everyone let his terrible record at his terrible previous school slide for some reason.

richt's been building his program for 10 years and has better talent than UT. Why should dooley be able to beat him in year 2?

He showed Hamilton how well organized he was. Apparently, that closed the deal.

Exactly what coach would you guys like to have? Dosent look like there is much to choose from. Pete Carol may wanna come back. Urban Myer will be coaching up north possibly. Les Miles wont leave LSU for us. Saban will prolly stay or try the NFL again. Oh and the Boise coach wont leave. So who could you guys possibly wanna have as a coach? Give Dooley 2 more years. Then START ALL OVER AGAIN. Sigh.

I am far from a negavol, I believe in my team and my guys to a fault. I believe when we're down 24 entering the 4th quarter theres still a chance "just 3 touchdowns and all 3 2 point conversions". But I've never been more dejected then after last night. Heck, I drove 600 miles from PA to watch my Vols lose to WYOMING and was not this bad. I guess a light finally came on that simply said "we're really not any good". That being said....

Dooley is the answer, firing him would be moronic. He needs time to evaluate and adjust, mostly his coaching staff and some philosophy. We cant run the ball,I believe its scheme, in 2009 we ran the ball as well as any time in the past 10 years with 2 270 pound walk ons and a 280 pound freshmen te using a system that makes Arian Foster look good, enough said. Whether thats CJC or we need a new OC I dont know.

Team speed on defense is embarassing, I cant believe how Lanier and Teague just got run by, not fooled not confused he just ran right by them and pulled away and after 6 new dbs this year these are the best we got? I think this whole getting bigger thing could be fine but not by sacrificing speed. Speed wins, end of story. AJ at linebacker isnt fast enough, our dbs arent fast enough, we still get no pressure on the qb.

Then theres the kicking game, the two top ranked guys at there position last year and they both stink, flat out, end of discussion.

Its not recruiting for as good as we arent we recruit very well. Changing coches again would be a disaster, Dooley has done a great job of bringing back Tennessee tradition and representing our program well. Ability to run the ball on offense and team speed on defense, fix it CDD, I'm behind you but you gotta fix whats wrong, its not youth, Im tired of that excuse. Run the ball get lots of team speed and two new kickers wouldnt hurt either.

i thought DD was hired through the 2015 season...but he prob wont make it that far...next yr he dont achieve at least 8-9 wins hes done..plain and simple..UT fans WILL NOT put up with losing or nonconsistent seasons year after year...just wont happen..

I remember Hamilton said he was 'blown away' by the interview. But since Hamilton has never played or coached football or any sport how would he know?

Kiffin whipped the tar out of Georgia and South Carolina in his year zero...and almost beat the bammers.
