Bad weather doesn't turn a 6 point lead into a 35 point debacle. Period.
I'm not suggesting the delay was responsible for the loss, but it certainly didn't help things. Oregon was overwhelmed early and it gave them a chance to regroup and make adjustments one and a half quarters earlier than they shouldve.
It also killed momentum. We got exhausted, but who's to say we wouldn't be up three possessions at half otherwise and Oregon wouldn't have been quite as motivated.
Although mostly I think we were gonna wear down one way or another.

I was just listening to the Herd on ESPN radio and in discussing this weekends games, Colin said that Dooley was way over his head and that UT is poorly coached. I tend to disagree and think that once Dooley has a few years in the system he will be successful. Your thoughts?
At least Dooley's head isn't going to be shaved bald tomorrow night like this guy!

I feel like we were probably going to lose that game anyway. Not being a pessimist because I would have loved to see us win, but we just couldn't deal with depth and speed for four quarters.
Vegas Vol, I would love for you to expand on this opinion here. How much research went in to this? You state it as fact. You must have spent weeks and weeks evaluating talent and watching film. Mind shedding a little light on the process for me?Here's his record against teams of more, comparable, and less talent:
Opponent Had More Talent: 1-8 (avg. loss -- 24 points)
Opponent Had Comparable Talent: 3-10 (avg. loss - 8 points)
Opponent Had Less Talent: 13-2 (avg. win 10 or more)
He only had 1 winning season in a WAC conference where he had as or more talent than most of the rest of the league.
Yeah, he's in over his head.
learn to read!how is this a perfect situation and since wen is losing to a top 10 team when you jus came off of a 7-6 season and over 80 percent of the nation had you losing. Are you supposed to win a game that you are 11.5 point underdogs i dont think so. 8 months to turn around a program are not enough. So dont jump back on the bandwagon when we get to playing back to a sec championship level on a weekly basis.
Dooley has never been a coordinator -- anywhere, ever. His only HC stint was not a success at La Tech, where they got worse, rather than better, in his 3rd year there. Here's his record against teams of more, comparable, and less talent:
Opponent Had More Talent: 1-8 (avg. loss -- 24 points)
Opponent Had Comparable Talent: 3-10 (avg. loss - 8 points)
Opponent Had Less Talent: 13-2 (avg. win 10 or more)
He only had 1 winning season in a WAC conference where he had as or more talent than most of the rest of the league.
Dooley talked about the importance of finishing well. The problem? During his tenure at La Tech, they rarely to never finished well when they fell behind in the 2nd half:
