Mizzou hiring Dooley as OC and QB coach doesn't make much sense to me either. Dooley can be entertaining but other than coaching wr's his coaching ability is questionable. Hopefully his future outings against UT will not be victorious, whoever their QB might be. Otherwise I say good luck to him.

I have no ill will towards any former coach. Well that’s not quite true. Tyndall is a scumbag. They all came in wanting to do great. Some fell short.

Great opportunity to prove he can coach. If he does well, maybe he gets another HC shot.

Personally, I think he's an arrogant donkey and will alienate everyone around him.

I hold no malice for Dooley, i just simply cant imagine how this hire makes sense. Either way we dont actually know how this will work out.

Never been a coordinator, right?

And it as Chaney’s offense, now at Georgia, not Dooley’s. Dooley has no offense per se.

He played wide receiver at Virginia multiple head coach also head coach in sec and Cowboys wide receiver coach for 5 years say what you want about Dooley but he is smart .

I think a lot of you will be surprised by the dools. He was in over his head at UT. Dude has been around some big time coaches at the boys, had to have picked up something from them.

Hopefully a classy one. Dooley did implement the VFL program. He also had the best recruiting class UT has had since 2000.

I don't get the hate for him or the ignorance as to his coaching ability. He may not be power 5 HC material. That being said, he's forgotten more about the game than most on this board combined

If Dooley wants to be a college HC again, a successful run as a power five OC would reopen that door. It is a smart move, if he can make it work.

Well despite what people think here, I saw the announcement on the SEC channels and both commentators thought that Dooley was extremely intelligent and it was a good move for Mizzou. You don't last 5 years on the Cowboys staff, if you suck.:hi:But of course we have to hate UT's x coaches (Dooley, Kiffin, CBJ, even Fulmer for some) Can't just let things go.. I wish him luck except when they play UT.

No one here has said that he isn't intelligent, you dont make it through law school as an idiot. However being smart enough to be a lawyer doesnt mean you will be a great football coach. There are reasons beyond blind hate as to why we dont understand this hire, like the fact he has never coached qb's or called plays, and has only been successful as a position coach. I hold no ill will towards Dooley, but there is a reason they dumped this as news on friday at 5.

Well, all things are possible. We hired an AD with NO AD experience, who then hired a DC with no HC experience, and everybody seems fine with that.
