Dooley Haters

Ok guys I understand that everyone has a right to say what they think, but seriously this is getting ridiculous. Fans are already calling for Dooley's head after 5 games??? Putting the LSU loss on Dooley??? Already saying Dooley is doing a bad job recruiting??? Guys seriously stop and think for a minute. EVERYONE knew we would not have a very good year this year so losing to 3 top 10 teams would not be a surprise so why are people saying coach DD is a bad coach and should be fired??? We should've beat LSU today but we lost by 2, we were right in it vs UF but simms' 2 ints sealed the loss and we were right in it vs Oregon but fell apart after halftime. The only game we actually got beat in was the Oregon game, we beat ourselves in the other 2 losses. Dooley has done a great job coaching the players to be in the right position, to execute the plays right, getting them to buy into his system, to be in the Vol for Life program and play hard for 60 mins. we are just a few plays away from being a good team. we will get there with time, just give him some more time to work with the players. The LSU loss was not on Coach DD, he is not in charge of subbing in players on D, that is up to the position coaches and the D coordinator to send in players, it is the PLAYER'S responsibility to see their sub and come off the field. The coaches can't hold their hand and walk them out to the huddle and get the other player's hand and walk him off the field. they practice subbing everyday, some players just didn't pay attention and made a mistake. it happens, time to move on and it's seriously time to stop blaming Dooley. so for the people sayin "Dooleys so stupid why would he sub with 10 seconds left?" THAT WAS NOT HIM. That was the D coaches putting in players that are on the goal line D to stuff the run. Finally to the people that are saying Dooley is sucking at recruiting, Coach DD is getting kids that fit into his system, kids that will be kind of leaders he wants and kids that are not going to go to jail while they are at UT. we are ranked #24 on rivals for all of you who are obsessed with the stars system. its october, wait till february before you start passing judgement on how good of a recruiter he is. I didn't hear you complaining about it last year when he came in with 2 weeks till NSD and closed like a champ. so to everyone that's talking smack, running their mouths, crying about it, calling for his head, burning their beds or whatever else they are doing: TIME. Just give him some time, hamilton knew this would take some time, everyone knew it would, so why don't you all just calm down, get behind the team, support them and make this rebuild go faster and smoother instead of just making it worse. for the fans that understand what i'm talking about, THANK YOU AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.....

Considering what I said in my last post. It really is hard to read when a long post isn't separated into paragraphs.
Spelling and grammar are important because they also make reading easier, it's why they exist.

Some, but not all, posters think they are from Philadelphia. In order to be fan you have to hate the current coaches and all the players suck. If you believe they are good then they say you are wearing orange glasses. These same posters jump all over misspellings and poor grammar as if it's the only way to show your intelligence.

You seem like a decent person who thinks everyone on this board should be respectful of everyone else. You have got to understand that most of these posters that sound like jerks are, in fact, jerks. They really don't care what you say and probably laugh at you when they see that they have gotten under your skin. I'm absolutely sure there are people on here who don't give a crap about football and just get on here and say things to piss us off. They piss us off and laugh about it.

If you don't respect what someone says, why concern yourself with why they are ignorant, confrontational, irrational, etc?

Sounds like you are talking about the guy who started this "real fan" tirade in the first place.

I think CDD will do a fine job. I believe in this staff. In my opinion the stars beside the recruits are overated. Just my opinion.

You have to give him 3 or 4 years at least to see what he can or can't do. So, far I like things, but too many men on the field happens and just because it happened at a crucial time in the game is why it is getting so much more press and play here. It happens and as long as it is the exception we should be in good shape.

Just remember who brought in the Juniors and Seniors (lack of talent) on this team and lay the blame there and not on Dooley's door step.

Next year it is kind of a no man's team, but the year after that it will start to be Dooley's team

This is Dooley's team today. He has to coach the players for the games no matter who signed them, You don't see Saban or Meyer or any successfull coach wait untill the third year because they thought the previous regimes players were uncoachable.

I am amazed that some people have nothing else to do but have thousands of posts on this board. Leave DD alone and let him do his job, heck we sure do have a lot of coaches and AD's on this board.

The stars are not 100% accurate, but they 80% accurate. All the SEC championship game winners have had top 10 classes and all the recent national championship winners I recall finished top 10.

Coach Dooley wasn't my first choice but I don't get to pick our coach Since he was hired I've begun to believe he is going to be just what we need to get us back to being able to play with our rivals but it's going to take time I believe he will do it the right way and when that time comes we won't have to worry about him leaving I like the way this team fights and doesn't give up but it's still early and I might be totally wrong

Alabama just went through five HC's in an eight year span. Six HC's if you include Joe Kines who coached the bowl game. I am not as concerned about the number of HC's as I am the quality of HC's.

My comment was about the tactics many posters use that I don't agree with. Volrook has an issue with people being mean and I was trying to defend him by saying I understand where he's coming from. If you post on VolNation who don't necessarily need thick skin, but you can't wear your heart on your sleeve either. Grammar and spelling is just an example.

No, Knoxville isn't Philadelphia, but Dooley isn't Saban.

Many of us willing to consider firing Dooley would never have considered hiring him. His record before UT is part of the evaluation applied. That record is dismal and leaves little cause for hope. He was not qualified for the job when he took it. Saban was. That's a huge difference.

Don't you think it's a bit pompous for UT fans to compare Dooley to Saban? They are not in the same tier, and it's not even close.

I didn't say fire him after five games. But the quality of the HC will be evident after one year. Saban was able to take a team his first year at Bama that had no draft picks and be competitive in every game...he never lost a game by more than 7 points. Then sign the number one recruiting class at then end of the first year.

I am a die hard LSU fan (alumni) who lived in Knoxville for 4 years during the Peyton Manning/T. Martin era. My second favorite team is the Volunteers. I think that Dooley will do OK but it will take some time. He needs to get rid of all of the thugs on the team which he is trying to do. I do think it was in poor taste at the completion of the game when he threw the headphones down and did not shake Les Miles hand. He needs to set a better example for his players and the young fans by being a better sportsman.

A head coach at a school like Tennessee will always be scrutinized by the masses and no matter what will have fans that disapprove. I am actually encouraged at the total positive threads that I have been reading. I think the haters are just a little louder and so we notice the negativity but...there ARE more of posivols in the fan base! GBO!!!

The randomness in thought associated with the OP made that a very difficult passage. I've never seen an example of ADD writing, but I'd suggest this OP as a prospect.

If there are any psychologists on VN, perhaps they could help with this prognosis.

Dooley lost a game by 35 and probably isn't going to sign the #1 class. It's his fault we don't have the players we need too. The only thing to do is fire the guy, right?
We can't let him attempt to fix the things that aren't going well. Only the next guy can do that. Or the one after.

Discussing getting rid of Dooley or even skirting around it like you are makes no sense at all.

lol when i posted that i honestly figured i would be fighting off about 500 people with AT MOST 2 people on my side lol.... thank god i'm not the only one that has a d@mn brain and actually understands football. thanks guys, i'm glad to see the real UT faithful are here, let those fair weather fans go inside for the storm, we'll sit out in it and talk some football.....
