dude its OCTOBER, when NSD comes around and we are NOT in the top 25, then you can cry over it. if ur a star watcher then check this, we are #24 on rivals which means 95 teams are worse off than us. we are 25 on scout, which means 94 are below us. personally i love the class we have so far and if you actually understood more than just how to look at a recruiting website's stars and judge a class then you would like it as well. i watched the recruiting show on espn 2 nights ago and they mentioned us and were talking about how "solid of a class we have even tho we have several players that have not even been graded so they only have a 2 star rating for now." and about how "dooley has done a great job going out and getting players for positions of need and getting role players that perfectly fit his system." that espn recruiting guy says that he thinks we are gonna be between #15 and #10 on NSD so i guess the bowels of hell are not too shabby... do your research before you complain to me man, i live, eat and sleep UT football and i understand it a lot more than most. now if you have an actual reason or reasons to complain other than "we don't have enough 5 star and 4 star players committed" then you should say them so theres reasoning behind ur fussing and complaining and so we can talk about the problem or problems and how to fix it or them....

We have to give Dooley time! If Dooley got fired, the attrition would get worse, we would be destroyed by the media, and no coach in their right mind would think about coming to Tennessee knowing that they have one year to turn things around.

In 2 years, our young o-line will be jr's and sr's with 2 years of experience. D. Rogers, Hunter, and Milton will be experienced jr's, and we will have Bray as are QB with Worley at backup. The D will be use to Wilcox's design and schemes, plus J. Smith and C. Miller will be dominating up front with J. Jackson and Gordon holding down the secondary.

We have to give Dooley time to get established. GO VOLS!

The coaches can't hold their hand and walk them out to the huddle and get the other player's hand and walk him off the field. they practice subbing everyday, some players just didn't pay attention and made a mistake. it happens, time to move on and it's seriously time to stop blaming Dooley. so for the people sayin "Dooleys so stupid why would he sub with 10 seconds left?" THAT WAS NOT HIM. That was the D coaches putting in players that are on the goal line D to stuff the run. Finally to the players that are saying Dooley is sucking at recruting, Coach DD is getting kids that fit into his system, kids that will be kind of leaders he wants and kids that are not going to go to jail while they are at UT. we are ranked #24 on rivals for all of you who are obsessed with the stars system. its october, wait till feburary before you start passing judgement on how good of a recruiter he is. I didn't hear you complaining about it last year when he came in with 2 weeks till NSD and closed like a champ. so to everyone that's talking smack, running their mouths, crying about it, calling for his head, burning their beds or whatever else they are doing: TIME. Just give him some time, hamilton knew this would take some time, everyone knew it would, so why don't you all just calm down, get behind the team, support them and make this rebuild go faster and smoother instead of just making it worse. for the fans that understand what i'm talking about, THANK YOU AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.....

The problem with your logic is that it doesn't matter if we outrecruit all the teams from the other conferences in America. We don't play those teams. Right now 8 SEC teams have better classes than we do. Being the "little engine that could" just doesn't work in most of the time in the SEC. The team with the better players is going to win the games the majority of the time.

I am behind this staff and this team 100%. I admit that last night the coaching was largely responsible for the bad execution. But, let's not forget that we were in the game on the final play against the #10 team in the country in their house. We are on a journey back to the top. There will be bumps along the way and there will be excitement and some nights like last night. Let's enjoy the ride, united, as volunteers!

We could use AJ Johnson this year at LB and a lot depends on how Crowder, Kerbyson, and Posey pan out, but if we had about five more OL or fill some of the remaining spots with JC OL transfers, the situation might not be all that bad. :dunno:

Linemen are hard to evaluate, but the size of the three OL commits is respectable, especially Posey.

Aside from all the negitive we had far more positive, I'm very happy of how we played yesterday. We tackled a hell of alot better, Matt did a great job of not costing us turnovers. Our O-line did a fantastic job considering what they had to go against and our WR's and our DB's played excellent. I'm very happy to be a vol and always will be. We just have to remember, The night is always the darkest right before the dawn, and our dawn is coming. We will have revenge on Oregon, Fla and Lsu and whoever else. What we can't have is ourselves killing ourselves with negitive feedback, fire dooley this fire wilcox for that blah blah blah it's always easier to drive when your in the backseat. Let's give them our full support and watch these guys grow into champions and hopefully some of " our " fans will actually be fans instead of critics!

The class CLK left behind for Dooley was projected to be a top 5 class. It was not ranked 24th two weeks out with CDD coming in and 'closing' it up to top 10. He stopped the bleeding and adding a couple in place of the few we lost. The class was top 10 mainly because of early enrollees. This was covered in detail during the offseason.

" was about, i never said anything like that. what i was talking about was when all the players decommitted, were considering decommitting, pulling in da'rick rogers (who was not going to come to us with kiffin here), signing justin hunter (who was committed to LSU because he didn't like kiffin) and pulling in james stone (who was a bama lock until dooley came in)---that's closing. i'm not even positive on who else he pulled in but that is a 5 star and 2 4 stars that had NOTHING to do with kiffin. and just a little fact for you since your so smart, after kiffin left, the #5 class ur talking about fell apart and dropped as low as #16 with all the decommits that dooley had to re-recruit.

now if you would like to not be an @$$ and just talk football you're more than welcome to just post what you think was wrong with my post that you so kindly bolded but never even touched on what your problem with it was. there's nothing wrong with challenging someone's post, but you should at least say what point your trying to make. btw i think you should read my original post again because i think you didn't understand some of the stuff i was talkin about.

this has nothing to do with the topic but it's something you reminded me of. i think it's stupid when ppl act like you did about correcting my post. this isn't an english forum, it's meant to just talk about ut football. here's an example: if someone was mentally challenged and was posting on here ppl would just think he was a really bad speller or wasn't smart. most ppl would just read it and understand what they can about it and go on. then ppl like you want to make jokes about them, post and make fun of them, or edit it to show everyone how much they messed up to degrade them and make them feel stupid. i never do that to ppl because i wouldn't want someone to treat my lil brother that way if he was posting on here. i've seen first hand how ppl like you can make ppl like my lil bro feel so bad about hisself. it's very very sad and it's something that shouldn't happen. the exact same thing has happened to him before. he was so excited for his first post on here because he has watched me do it so much. when he posted his first post some @$$ like you reposted his post and was making fun of how "dumb he was and how he should go back to kindergarten to learn to spell and could he even spell his name right?" my lil bro has never posted on here again. treat ppl how you would want to be treated. most ppl that make spelling errors on here prolly are just like me and do not worry about it and type as fast as they can, but there's always that chance that you could be degrading someone who can't help it. you should remember that, everyone should......

linemen are hard to judge. what do you think about the DT carson? he is 6'0 327, great size and a low center of gravity should make him great at gettin underneath o-linemen. who do you think will be the biggest surprise in this class? like a player thats under the radar but breaks out when he gets on campus.

Well I think Alabama managed to hold it together after Saban fired his offensive coordinator after the first year. Chaney is doing the same mediocre job at TN as a did at Purdue before they released him.

no not at all actually. i'm talking about ppl who make fun of others for just spelling errors or typing errors. i said that talking about fans who sit around cut down UT and call for the coaches head after 3 losses.those 2 have NOTHING in common what so ever. i'm consistent, you just failed to understand.

The facts are our coach has at least 4 years before any talk of firing is reasonable. Even having that thought tells me you are not a knowledgeable fan of college football. We are doing well, setting the base for future successes this year. Go Vols!!

If Dooley still has a losing record in year three then a 4th year will not help. I don't think its being unreasonable to expect something by then.

You have to give him 3 or 4 years at least to see what he can or can't do. So, far I like things, but too many men on the field happens and just because it happened at a crucial time in the game is why it is getting so much more press and play here. It happens and as long as it is the exception we should be in good shape.

Just remember who brought in the Juniors and Seniors (lack of talent) on this team and lay the blame there and not on Dooley's door step.

Next year it is kind of a no man's team, but the year after that it will start to be Dooley's team

Some, but not all, posters think they are from Philadelphia. In order to be fan you have to hate the current coaches and all the players suck. If you believe they are good then they say you are wearing orange glasses. These same posters jump all over misspellings and poor grammar as if it's the only way to show your intelligence.

You seem like a decent person who thinks everyone on this board should be respectful of everyone else. You have got to understand that most of these posters that sound like jerks are, in fact, jerks. They really don't care what you say and probably laugh at you when they see that they have gotten under your skin. I'm absolutely sure there are people on here who don't give a crap about football and just get on here and say things to piss us off. They piss us off and laugh about it.

If you don't respect what someone says, why concern yourself with why they are ignorant, confrontational, irrational, etc?
