Ok guys I understand that everyone has a right to say what they think, but seriously this is getting ridiculous. Fans are already calling for Dooley's head after 5 games??? Putting the LSU loss on Dooley??? Already saying Dooley is doing a bad job recruiting??? Guys seriously stop and think for a minute. EVERYONE knew we would not have a very good year this year so losing to 3 top 10 teams would not be a surprise so why are people saying coach DD is a bad coach and should be fired??? We should've beat LSU today but we lost by 2, we were right in it vs UF but simms' 2 ints sealed the loss and we were right in it vs Oregon but fell apart after halftime. The only game we actually got beat in was the Oregon game, we beat ourselves in the other 2 losses. Dooley has done a great job coaching the players to be in the right position, to execute the plays right, getting them to buy into his system, to be in the Vol for Life program and play hard for 60 mins. we are just a few plays away from being a good team. we will get there with time, just give him some more time to work with the players. The LSU loss was not on Coach DD, he is not in charge of subbing in players on D, that is up to the position coaches and the D coordinator to send in players, it is the PLAYER'S responsibility to see their sub and come off the field. The coaches can't hold their hand and walk them out to the huddle and get the other player's hand and walk him off the field. they practice subbing everyday, some players just didn't pay attention and made a mistake. it happens, time to move on and it's seriously time to stop blaming Dooley. so for the people sayin "Dooleys so stupid why would he sub with 10 seconds left?" THAT WAS NOT HIM. That was the D coaches putting in players that are on the goal line D to stuff the run. Finally to the people that are saying Dooley is sucking at recruiting, Coach DD is getting kids that fit into his system, kids that will be kind of leaders he wants and kids that are not going to go to jail while they are at UT. we are ranked #24 on rivals for all of you who are obsessed with the stars system. its october, wait till february before you start passing judgement on how good of a recruiter he is. I didn't hear you complaining about it last year when he came in with 2 weeks till NSD and closed like a champ. so to everyone that's talking smack, running their mouths, crying about it, calling for his head, burning their beds or whatever else they are doing: TIME. Just give him some time, hamilton knew this would take some time, everyone knew it would, so why don't you all just calm down, get behind the team, support them and make this rebuild go faster and smoother instead of just making it worse. for the fans that understand what i'm talking about, THANK YOU AND KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK.....

How soon fans forget which coach put the University of Tennessee in the talent-poor environment that we are currently in. Just look at the lack of seniors and juniors in the two deep and that will tell you where our problems originated.

We played a team with the top 5 talent yesterday. We had to play an almost flawless game and force several turnovers just to even be competitive in this game. We almost pulled it off. Kudos to the coaching staff for an excellent game plan and to the players for fighting to the end. We saw our guys lay it all out on the field for 4 quarters and almost upset one of the best team in the nation.

I have been and am totally behind this team..... but yesterday's coaching job on the last play was pitiful....... I hope Dooley turns it around, but I have seen the same thing before and I am afraid History is about to repeat it'self

do u care to explain the poor coaching? i've been wanting to see it from the point of view of the people that are blaming the coaches.

These are the same fans that wants Bill Cower, Jon Gruden, Bob Stoops,etc etc etc. News flash, these were NEVER gonna happen.lol!!!!

Some people on this site feel very strongly that college football players cannot be held accountable for anything.

I think it's #8 in The Real Fan Handbook.

This isn't unique to UT. The USC fans are saying the exact same thing about Kiffin after last night's loss. And I'm sure UGA fans are saying it about Richt.

+1 thank god i finally found some reasonable posts on here. If it was up to some of these morons we'd have a new coach every 3 games. Then we'd really be a powerhouse!!! LOL

lol when i posted that i honestly figured i would be fighting off about 500 people with AT MOST 2 people on my side lol.... thank god i'm not the only one that has a d@mn brain and actually understands football. thanks guys, i'm glad to see the real UT faithful are here, let those fair weather fans go inside for the storm, we'll sit out in it and talk some football.....

it was a very painful loss I agree, but the team really is improving each week and thats the most important thing this year.

I've got a feeling the Dooley Sucks, Fire Wilcox and Chaney's an Idiot nuts are going to be with us for a while longer.
Just wondering what they'll be complaining about in 3 years when we're kicking ass again.

Saban's first year at Bama was not pretty...and he had alot more talent.

I think Dooley will be fine...This team is improving

I loved the game plan yesterday, I thought everyone even the O line looked more comfortable in the hurry up shotgun.

Dooley made some mistakes yesterday sure...all coaches do. Lets just hope he learnes from them.

Calling for him to be fired is a bit extreme at this point, but there's some serious questions that need some serious answering today. Most notably, how do we continue to roll the wrong number of players out onto the field? Middle school coaches get this right time after time on a weekly basis, but a coaching staff that is being paid in the millions of dollars can't. How does this keep happening?

I tried to split these random thoughts in your wall of text into paragraphs to make it easier to read, but it really is just a lot of sentences that have not been organized into thoughtful paragraphs. Still, it is a little easier on the eyes when the wall is divided up into blocks.

There's so much here that is wrong, I don't have to address all of it, but maybe others can help. I used bold to highlight some of the more bogus statements in your OP.


The class CLK left behind for Dooley was projected to be a top 5 class. It was not ranked 24th two weeks out with CDD coming in and 'closing' it up to top 10. He stopped the bleeding and adding a couple in place of the few we lost. The class was top 10 mainly because of early enrollees. This was covered in detail during the offseason.

Are you talking about the year he beat one of his old rivals who had been beating them regularly as if those rivals were his stepchildren?

If so, I look forward to Dooley returning the favor to Saban in a few weeks.

Our current recruiting class will do nothing but continue our descent into the bowels SEC hell if it doesn't get any better. Only Miss. St, Vandy and UK are worse off than we are right now. That's not good company.

some tennessee fans are not really tennessee fans. they just get on websites like this, make up a gay name like "VOLZ4LIFE" and then they piss and moan and fuss and seriously never shut up and never have anything positive to say. if that was my life i would hate it. i mean seriously who would enjoy being a 25 year old virgin with no job, no girlfriend, no life, no friends and the highlight of their life is fussing about UT in a volnation forum while listening to NSYNC and lettin their dog lick peanut butter off the place no girl would ever touch..... pretty sad life i think... if i were them i would much rather be a real tennessee fan lol...

And, this is truly Dooley's first class. Last year's success was mostly CLK, with an assist from Hamilton in forcing the Early Enrollees to stay and CDD in helping to stop the bleeding before NSD.
