Dooley has lost this team...and I don't blame them.

They ain't buying what he's selling anymore and frankly I don't blame them. He freely ridicules specific players and cannot seem to find a way to coach these players to play intelligently. Too many bad plays, poor penalties, ZERO ability to come out in the 2nd half with a plan and energy.

I was initially very optimistic about him and this staff, but we are not a well coached team. We can be young, hurt, and not very talented, but there are teams with much less doing MUCH more.

At this point, I think he is rebuilding for our next coach. We got what we paid for...La Tech's coach.

Thats a bunch of garbage. First ....what team is doing much more with less? Coach Dooley is doing all he can do with what he has right now.....At some point it is up to the players to take on some of the responabilty....They are young and they have been through a lot. They are missing on the field leaders...that is somthing that the coach cannot insert....Its the same ol crap....UT looking for that magic wand fix....its not that simple ......SIMON. wake up.

Why do we t VN let people post this carp without al least SOME facts to back it up. Enlighten me....what teams aere doing so much MORE with LESS?

We suck, and with the current coaching staff we will continue to suck. Our only win left on the schedule is MTSU. 4-8, wow.

This just goes to show who the Tenessee unfaithful are. We have a hard year and your ready to throw in the towl. Blame the coach and call for his head. You only call your selves fans when Tenessee is winning. When we are down you want pass blame. We have had some bad luck this year. Two of our top players out. No one on the team wanting to step up and be a leader. The coaches can only lead so much. They give the team the tools and its up to them use the tools givin. Not one or two players make a team. Its a lot more. This team plays hard, but likes the HEART to step up to the challange placed before them. Dooley and his staff are doing all they can do. An on field leader has to step up. The players need to be more vocal. Its thier team.

Newsflash: we've had four years of this crap, not one.

The Florida, Georgia and South Carolina games were lost because of bad play on the field. LSU and Bama games should have been closer for the same reasons. You can blame the coaches or the players or both. Doesn't matter. The bottom line is bad blocking, bad tackling, bad passing, missed assignments, mis-alignments, bad coverage, bad run fits, and just overall bad football. These thing occur whenever we face a good team. Without fail. We are MILES away from good fundamentals and technique, and thusly miles away from winning. Depth is not the problem. We have players. They just aren't very good. THAT is the problem. The only way to change it is.......

Yeah, I know what you are saying. To be honest, I was outraged last night, and calmer today but still not sure about Dooley. I am in a weird place right now because I can just about see any viewpoint. I am just unsure but I wouldn't want a change this season. I have things I like about Dooley and staff and things I don't. This season is just painful and even more so when a game like that is winnable and you get breaks and cant take advantage. I guess I vent sometimes but the rational side of me has hope because the best players on this team or Dooley guys(except Bray, Johnson, etc) If current commits stay on board, I think it'll turn around next year. I disagree with Dooley on some decisions and especially his public treatment of players. I think he makes emotional decisions to which he himself admitted. I am upset, but I realize this is a tough deal and it takes time. Last night was my toughest game just becuase it was one of the few games that we got brakes, turnovers, etc. It seemed like a game we would win. I can handle the Bama, LSU, and UGA losses but last night's was toughest for me to take. I think DD will get it worked out, and I hope he does. Imagine a coaching search right now, it wouldn't be pretty. I am not sold but I am not giving up hope that DD will do the job here.

I like his recruiting thus far and his discipline. There are reasons to believe, and I will wait another year before I make up my mind about him, even though I am very unhappy with last night. I hope DD makes melook like a fool a year from now. I kinda think he will, but I am not certain. Basically, I am so torn I can't make a logical post. I hate losing.

I dunno...our players just give up as soon as something bad happens it seems like on both sides of the ball. I am tired of watching this product. We should have not only won last night, but should have blown them out if we capitalized early on mistakes and didn't give up.

Really? C'mon guys. Nobody likes losing...but reality is we ARE young. We are an unranked team, that has lost to 4 top 20 teams, our 2 best offensive players are not playing....our best LB is not playing, our best defensive player is gone, I mean you guys that are now saying Dooley and our coaches suck apparently flt like we should win one or more of the games that we have lost, in reality, we shouldnt have won any of them. Instead of crying and moaning and blaming everyone from Fulmer to Hamilton to Dooley to the Director of POTSMB, just realize it is what it is, and our backup QB is not that good, and our third string QB has no experience, thats reality, and its almost impossible to beat really good teams with the scenario we have right now. But there is hope! Be patient.

Unfortunately it is looking more and more like that game is gonna be a diarrhea fest  Who can out crap the other...Sad state we are in when UK gives us the creeps.

We aren't winning games but Dooley hasn't lost this team. We still play hard but just can't seem to get the job done. IF anything, I think we need a new OC next year and probably a new O line coach as well. I think you have to give Dooley at least one more full year.

I agree with the play calling. I was watching Spurrier calling his offensive plays last night, and wondered if Dooley got sick of the bad decisions of Chaney - and started calling plays himself would we be better off?

 true, since 2005

Was it the 2006 season not losing to anyone outside of the top 13, the beat down on Georgia, Ala, Cali, USCa, and 106k attendance, good outback bowl driving for win when Arron Foster saved the day with his signature fumble move...

Or was it the 2007 6-2 SEC record and hanging with LSU until the end 7 point loss in the SECG and eventual smackdown of Wisconsin witnessed nationally by recruits on New Years day?

...since 2005 that we have been saying "next year"?

His management of the QB's the past 2 weeks has just been horrendous.

What would you do with them. One sucks balls and the other who knows what he will do. Don't blame him for trying that to maybe start winning some. But I agree with the original poster about the rest.
:banghead2::sad::vava:

Ya'll can keep griping about Dooley if you want, but you're crazy for 3 reasons.

1. No one wanted this job. Dooley had the guts to take it. And he is bringing in talent. Did you notice how many freshmen were playing critical roles today? It's because we have no upperclassmen (besides a transfer in Malik) who can play at the SEC level. Call it an excuse all you want, but it's reality. Get behind Dooley or find another team to root for. The Vol are what they are and it doesn't matter who is the coach, it is what it is.

2. Imagine for a moment if Bray was healthy and Hunter was healthy. I'm not even gonna mention Janzen Jackson or Herman Lathers. Just Bray and Hunter. Different season.

3. Dooley holds players accountable and is not afraid to bench people who aren't performing. Eventually this is going to pay-off...if we as fans and the team stays committed to the process.

Take a look at the DB recruits and the OL and DL recruits since 2007 and tell me that you could honestly expect anything better than what we are getting this year.

As much as we don't want to admit it, South Carolina is a much better team than we are right now. Spurrier recruited solid classes for several years, while our coaches did not, until Dooley pulled a good one-and-a-half.

I'd really like to blame our coaches for the loss, and maybe that's right; maybe the guys should have played better. But I'm just not knowing if now's the time for that. Look what Spurrier went through coaching South Carolina. He's a famously winning coach, and it took him years to drag them off the bottom.

A sign of maturity is being able to catalog your disappointment and put it into perspective. We will be fine with the current coaching staff, but it is not going to be without pain.

I think Kentucky found a quarterback last night against Miss. St. (Who has a good defense). He was something like 28-35 for 78.8% passing...but I would be stunned if they beat us this year, and I pray that Tyler Bray will be back before then!!!

Ummmm...starting to really believe my avatar sums up the situation here for Dooley :hi:
