Another thing that is funny is that you guys blame everything on Dooley. It's like you don't know that Dooley doesn't call plays. It's like you believe Dooley is completely responsible for developing a game plan. It's like you think Dooley is the one that runs out of gas in games.
. ..... Blah blah blah
I think it's based on whose comitted. We haven't been flipping many people on signing day and the Rivals recruiting ranking has slipped a small notch each year that Dooley has been here. Obviously, if Dooley signs those four guys you mention it's something in his favor. If he gets none of them, don't come on here and tell us it's not his fault some kid didn't want to come to UTK.Those saying we have a bad recruiting class this year must not be following recruiting. We have the #1 rated RB saying we are his top school choice right now. We also have the #2 rated OG leaning to us. Another highly rated JUCO WR has us as one of his top choices. There is talk that the #1 rated DE is really gaining interest in us and could possibly flip from Auburn to us.
So don't say we have a bad recruiting class till everyone signs on the dotted line.
Successful programs don't make excuses nor do they have to. Those in charge make everyone accountable including themselves.

The bottom line of the initial post was enough. The rest was fluff.
The fact that Dooley is in over his head does not equate to I/we do not respect the man. No argument. He walked in to a crappy situation. He is though, in my opinion, in over his head. He will at some point be let go. The University should at that point have a "big fish" on the line. If they don't, then they need to go with an interim head head. Don't delay the pain.
Excuses and reasons and completely different. You just have to be smart enough to tell the difference. You, sir, must not be. Lol... What, you think you could take Matt Simms to Neyland and beat Oregon?

So, it's Dooley's fault that Kiffin left a couple weeks before signing day? It's Dooley's fault that Janzen Jackson and Darick Rogers had a drug problem? It's Dooley's fault that Tyler Bray broke his thumb and Justin Hunter tore his ACL. It's Dooley's fault that because of a flawed rule (which got changed by the way) UNC was able to get close enough to score on us in the bowl game? It's Dooley's fault that the economy has tanked and less tickets are being sold (you guys blame this on the losing record, but every stadium in every sport is having these same problems)?
Here's what I have seen:
In 2010, Dooley took a roster that was worse than the roster in 2009 (Kiffin even said 2010 would be worse than 2009, and by the way, Kiffin lost to a dreadful Ol Miss team and got absolutely slaughtered by an ACC team in a bowl game) and he almost beat LSU on the road and still went to and almost won a bowl game (and should have if not for the lack of a runoff rule).
In 2011, our offense was ticking like a clock. If you watch the season up to the point Hunter got hurt, we were rolling. Florida couldn't stop us until he got hurt. The our season went in the crapper. I was watching when Hunter got hurt and I even told the people around me that I thought our season was done because of that injury. Hunter was unguardable.
Now, in 2012, despite Dooley still not having a group of seniors yet, or anyone from any team that knows what it's like to win at a D-1 level, we are competing. I see it as we learn to win this year, and next year we apply the knowledge.
Some of you want so badly for something to go wrong that you exaggerate it when it does. I saw someone in this thread say that teams at other schools always play focused and that's where coaching comes in. Yeah, well, tell that to Georgia about Saturday. They looked really focused. Or tell that to the Saban-coached Bama team that lost to Utah badly in a bowl game. Or tell that to Boise State, which despite always having a great season always seems to have at least one disastrous loss. Get off of Dooley until at least the season is over, because until then you guys sound like biased crybabies.
And by the way, the OP had 99 likes the last time I checked and a smart @** nega comment had 16 right below it. You negas are in the minority, which helps me have more faith in society.
Short post. Only requires ability to understand small numbers.
Dooley is 14-16 at UT...
...4-14 in the SEC, with 3 of those wins against Vandy and UK...
...0-3 against UF and UGA, 0-2 against Bama and USCe (so far)...
...still looking for that "first big win" against a ranked opponent...
...whatever "Phase" UT football is in, it's time to phase out, and go in a different direction.
When the posturing, speculation, and opinionating is done, what remains is the raw data, which cannot be denied...or explained away.
Go Vols.

I said nothing negative until the Florida game. He has recruited at a decent level but not as good as the coaches he has to beat. He definitely has not coached as well as the coaches he has to beat. I hoped against logic he would be the guy but that has been about as fruitful as hoping the diamond in the rough recruits are better than the 4 and 5 star talent our rivals reel in.
Not sure what your point is, but.....
2006-2008: Fulmer was 24-15 overall, 5-7 against FL/UGA/Bama/USCe, and 1-1 in bowls. That's a .615 overall, and .417 against the four SEC teams you mentioned.
If you want to go back one more year, you get 29-21 (.580) and 5-11 (.313).
Fact is, Fulmer had lost it. The only debate now is whether Dooley ever had it.
Go Vols.
