Dooley excuse makers.....

Regardless of your opinions on the staff, if you watched the game you saw a QB locked in on his #1 wr all day long....a QB that was as inaccurate as you've ever seen him play....a RB (Poole) constantly run without having any vision at all.....our wrs drop some balls at critical times....a kicker that has no business being in the Vols uniform....and a one-legged punter. WTF do you think the outcome of any game will be under these cicrcumstances?

UT lost around 15-20 yards on every possession exchange due to lame azz punting.....Parlady's FG attempt looked liked a drunken invlaid was kicking.

I realize some of you guys like Poole and that's cool, but I bet the dude is still a virgin 'cause he has no idea where the hole is....pitiful

Sounds like a lot of blame on the players and zero blame on the coaching staff... you're more clueless than I ever thought before.

You are clueless.

We hear this same bull**** every week from you people and Dooley continues to prove week in and week out that he does not belong on the sidelines as a head coach at ANY University much less MY University.

It's over.

This you pathetic rascals.

This GAME is only Dooley and the O coaches. Changes need to be made but for our program and fairness to Dooley he deserves one more year. Bash me if u want.

He didn't deserve the job to begin with. He got it and I was willing to give him a chance since there was really not an option.

He has had 2 years to make his team better. Not win the east or 8 or 9 games, just make improvements. We just lost to one of the worst UK teams in the 26 year streak, with a bowl on the line. And really didn't look like we give a rats @zz about it. In his 2 year stint he has yet do anything that says he deserved or deserves this job. Period.

That's a good question at this point. I saw a bunch of players having arguably the worst games of their careers. Was the play calling bad? Who knows because Bray was awful and he had all day to throw for much of the game. If Zac Rogers is our best #2 then I should take my 44 year old ass up to the hill and try and walk on....Dooley didn't fumble the snap on the wildcat play or botch the call on the KY fumble, but he's the coach and it all starts at the top.....

right, just like he didn't make a spectacular catch in the end zone on 4th and goal last week. Dooley gets credit for the wins, he takes the blame for the losses. That's how it works.

Redneck ass? I have a degree from the same University this clown pretends to coach at. Far from redneck.

You stay in the recruiting forum because that's the only place on the internet you can soak in some semi-good news about Doofy.

Semi good news... the news that's going to get out program back on the right track. You are a moron if you think we can win without experienced talent.

Just because a team has a bad game doesn't mean that coach sucks and just because the team wins a game doesn't make him great.

Richt lost to UK and Vandy during the same year and has lost to them more than once yet he is still a successful coach that many on here would love to hire if he were available.

Dooley deserves blame for some games this year, not all, but some. Even Fulmer the great had bad years where coaches did poor jobs but was able to recover. If Dooley doesn't improve, he will be gone.

I hear alot of people saying that we win 8 games and maybe the east because our young players will have alot of experience. That being said, all of our experienced players have gotten so used to losing. What happened to the rush they got from beating Vandy last weak. Wasn't that the best feeling? They, and I mean coaches players and everybody else should have came out with alot more passion. I just don't see next year getting much better. I hope I'm wrong. GO VOLS!!!

I hope you are too, but i don't see this coach getting more than 7 wins next year. The team is unprepared week in and week out and that's gonna spell failure next year.

i don't think it was dooley's fault chaney called a horrible game, our ol hasn't improved at all, poole is a horrible back and obviously isn't getting the coaching he needs. So I still say Dooley is the right man, but I think staff changes are NECESSARY.

I have supported this coaching staff all year but today was the bottom line. Dooley has to go La. Tech coaches have to go!

Dooley excuse. "The grass on practice field is too wet."

Most people have no idea how out of touch Dooley is with what is important in building a team. it is total dissaray. Chaney had a coaching staff and position forced on him. He is not a RBs coach. He'll be gone and taking the blame, which is unfortunate. Others will pay the price for DUHHHdooley. I said it from the beginning. UT hired freakin goober pyle. What do you expect.

Exactly, but you also forgot to mention he had a playbook forced on him too. Dooley is the one that is hung up on the whole run first thing and Chaney has always been a pass first coach. Chaney is responsible for Drew Brees and Kyle Orton, yet Dooley refused to let Chaney do his thing and instead tried to force him to run an offense that he wasn't comfortable with.
Dooleys gonna blame Chaney, fire him and were gonna end up losing some good players because of it. Then were gonna get stuck with Dooley for at keast another season and all next year we'll get to hear that were losing because the players aren't used to the new offense he's installing and so all the Dool-aid drinkers will yet again insist that he's doing great and just needs yet another year, so he can install his new offense.
To me the best thing we could do is fire Dooley, keep Chaney and Wilcox and fire Mike Leech as HC. He would be more than happy to let Chaney burn up the SEC with a pass happy offense instead of trying to force a bunch of players that have a pass first skill set try and be a run first offense, which is what Dooley did all year.

I wanna know how the same players, with the same coaches are gonna get THAT much better over the off season. Sorry but it won't happen. Even with a couple of players back from injuries it won't make that much of a difference. Sorry but it won't and the players Dooley is recruiting, character over talent, won't make that much of a difference either. We weren't even close to being competitive against the top teams in the SEC and we struggled to be competitive against the worst. Sure we'll have a little more experience, but so will the rest of the teams and the top teams will be getting even better recruits than we will.
Maybe if we showed some improvement through the season we could say we might win a couple more games next year, but we REGRESSED through the season. It also won;t change the fact that Dooley doesn't coach them to win, he coaches them to try and keep the score close and keep from getting blown out.
Honestly, even with everyone healthy all season, I see us going 6-6 next year, maybe 7-5, but thats as good as it'll get.

If he'd just shut up and take blame for a loss I'd support him. Putting the blame on kids when it's obviously his fault is sickening. I have NO support for that man anymore.

Have been a Dooley supporter, but after today I've had to face reality: a team that is markedly worse in the head coaches 2nd season than in his 1st,isn't rebuilding,It's regressing...I understand the youth and injuries excuses, and they are valid...but injuries to UK didn't keep them from flat out-coaching and beating a superior team...something UT hasn't been able to do all season...hope with another year of experience,Dooley can right the ship but really starting to doubt his leadership ability

this.

The UK loss shows this guy has no clue what he's doing. Lose to the worst UK team in years, with their stadium a little over half full (with a large contingent of Vols fans) = lose your job. Sure, typically you get 3-4 years to implement your system… but at what point do your obvious mistakes and inexcusable losses start to go against you?

Sadly, he'll win 7-8 games next year because the schedule works out that way... but we'll be back to this the next year and we'll be that much further behind... So much to look forward to as a Vol fan… :ermm:
