If you can't see there is some promising young players coming up under his leadership, you just don't understand football. It takes more than two years to clean up the mess he stepped into. I will give him one more year to split conference w's and l's and win all of the non conference games, I think that is fair.

At least he beat Vandy.

I agree......too many hot heads pulling out the pitchforks right now. Yes, the season was bad, but let the guy finish what he started. VOLS are gonna be just fine.

Please tell me what you base this opinion on because I really want to understand this line of reasoning. What gives you any confidence that we are going to be just fine? I just don't see it.

Dooley is well-compensated to do a job, he's performing poorly and football is a business. Either he performs to expectations, or he's fired and we hire someone who can get better results.

A win over Vandy means little when you turn right around and lose to a much worse team and end a horrific season in such a humiliating fashion. If he were CEO of a $10M company, he would have been removed last night... and deservedly so.

I keep saying this over and over again. I don't think anybody knows whether we'll be fine or not, but another coaching transition right now would be a killer.

What exactly do you see that makes you think they are going to be alright?...His leadership? :eek:lol: His coaching ability? :eek:lol: You need to wake up and see that next year will not be any different or better than this one...Some of you Dooley worshipers have no common sense.

When we go no better than 7-5 next year, the nightmare will be over. Where is this "leadership" you speak of? This coach throws his own players under the bus.

I was all for giving Dooley 2 more years but after the fiasco at KY I think he should just get one more year.
This team is not improving and they seem to not care, thats all on the coaches to get your team up and have them ready to play.

It's going to be a killer weather we keep him or not....Almost better to cut your losses and just hope the next guy can right the ship....The wheels are off the wagon right now and Dooley has no clue how to put them back on.

He'll get one more year. After the Kentucky game, however, it is wise to question whether or not he merits that one year.

I'm thinking of just putting this in my signature. Here's my reasoning.

I hate losing too. But you're thinking of this like an NFL coaching change where results come quickly. You go through another coaching change now, any we're guaranteed to wander in the wilderness for another 4-5 years. You let Dooley land another decent recruiting class and our numbers are back up where they need to be in 2012 and by 2013 we'll have full Junior and Senior classes. By then, the job might actually appeal to a top notch candidate if Dooley can't get it done in 2012.

Plus, in 2013 Dooley's buyout will have dropped and Fulmer's buyout will be off the books.

. . . and now I'm kicking myself for wasting time constructing this post that nobody will read.

Its really not difficult to understand.

People are just used to instant gratification.

I think we have to wait and see whether determined, intelligent work pays off in this instance. My hunch is that it will.

Sucks arse in the interim, though.

Easliy? Sure lets get even further behind LSU, Bama,GA, etc! We need a big name coach now! If you were highly recruited would you want to play for Saban or DD? Just saying?

I do believe all of these Dooley worshippers are Fulmer fans.

They want to be able to say we had a great coach.....But they don't want to admit this was started under his leadership....

Dooley needs to get rid of Chaney NOW or he's gone next year for sure with him....But I think he has Cutcliffes attitude @ Ole Miss, and it'll be him too...

There is nothing that points to a assumption that this will be just fine. All that is speculation, no one can predict the future. So if the feel good threads make you feel good then run with it. There is no evidence that suggests this thing takes a 180 and suddenly looks like a team with a purpose and clearly knows what they're doing. Haven't seen it yet, doubt we do.

With a similar hire I would agree.

I think the worry of getting the right coach is right behind the worry of whether the Dooley gamble is going the wrong way.
