Dooley...Doing the best with what he has been handed...

You don't have to be the most talented team on the field to at least get the basics right and play hard for 60 minutes. I realize that we don't have the talent to win in the SEC right now, but DD isn't even getting the team to do the basics. That was the one thing that people propped DD up on was the fact that even though he didn't get the results at La Tech, his teams were always disciplined and played hard through the whole game. Well, no so much here at UT. They can't get the right number of people on the field half the time, and when they manage to get that right, they line up in an illegal formation 4-5 times on one series. The team has been a no-show for 2 whole games and quit for the second half of 2 others. Add to that mix the fact that DD continues to recruit sub-SEC talent and it's a recipe for disaster. Just wait a year or two when we're playing the SEC with a team chock full of his 3-star players. It'll really be awful then.

Do you people seriously not realize how terrible the talent on this team is and the fact that there is NO depth. A team "chock full of his 3-star players" would be an improvement...

Again I hate to say this but...

Lame Kiffen & Co...enough said...

When they left it was like like the 1th hour in terms of finding a coach. And look at Dooley...he had to make a choice and tell LA TECH it's been great, tell the wife and kids we're moving, jump on a plane and hold a press conf with no clue to a coaching staff, not knowing players; basically in the dark. He's holding in his hand was was dealt by Fulmer and Lame Kiffen and 11th hour recruits.

A team with a lot of depth comprised of sub-SEC players is the same as no depth at all.

it just simply amazes me that some of you posters that talk about "stars",seem to think that all the,say top 25 teams, have nothing but 4 and 5 star players.to hear you all say, there is not a single 3 star on any team in the country except TEN.
may you guy just need to chill out and get a life.you probley only quilify for a 2 star job,but want a ceo job.:lolabove:

There's pretty direct correlation between winning a "recruiting championship" and then winning a championship on the field, especially when it comes to SEC teams. The kind of class UT will pull this year is the class of a team that hopes to compete, not win. I want a coach who aims to win.

and it is simple for those of us who understand that this is indeed a rebuilding time for Tennessee Football. If you think otherwise, you are only kidding yourself. We are not talented enough or deep enough to win games right now. And, Kiffin did not in fact "leave the program in better shape"...this is one tough job. We are starting to act like Razorback fans, dillusional and unintelligent...grow up.
Thank You, finally someone knows what he is talking about.:clapping::good!::salute:

You're right, it's a definitely a tough job. So tough in fact, we can't even get the correct amount of players on the field. I guess when you're rebuilding, that kind of stuff doesn't matter too much.

Obviously 13 men on the field is a sign of how we don't have enough players.

Derek Dooley is 7 games into his coaching tenure. Give him a chance people. This ship will not be turned around for another 4 years. He gets 5 years minimum IMO. And that is just to get us competing again. We are not even a competitive ball team right now. Expect mediocrity with small improvements over the net 5 years and hopefully, with some staff continuity, Dooley can get us in the right direction.

Dooley is going to test that theory, because his upcoming class is definitely chock full of 3-star players.
