and it is simple for those of us who understand that this is indeed a rebuilding time for Tennessee Football. If you think otherwise, you are only kidding yourself. We are not talented enough or deep enough to win games right now. And, Kiffin did not in fact "leave the program in better shape"...this is one tough job. We are starting to act like Razorback fans, dillusional and unintelligent...grow up.

It's hard to win in the SEC without a couple of true DT

I agree. Dooley and staff are doing the best they can with what they've been given. But, some better play calling on offense might help out some. I think we will be much better and more competitive in a year or two after Dooley and staff get some of their type players in here. Until we get some DTs and more experienced O-linemen we are going to have some long days on the field.

I remember throughout the preseason that the majority of Vol fans were very understanding that this is a rebuilding process ,and it's also a learning process at the same time. This year is a learning and a rebuilding process. If we don't give Dooley three years to see what he can do, we'll be stuck in mediocrity for many more years.

If the team doesn't improve next year, I could see him being fired. I'm sure we will improve though.

I'm positive that the team will improve. This year is truly the rock bottom year. Many starters will be back next year ,but I am not sure how many there will be, since I haven't done the math.

Many starters will be back next year math.

This isn't a positive in many cases. Any upperclassmen that will be back is a negative. We need to build on the lowerclassmen and recruit guys that improve our team immediately. The latter doesn't seem to be happening though.

Agreed, It shows why recruiting is so important every year(Ability, SIZE and finally the Capablity of getting into schoool). I think someone posted several months ago the attrition rate for 2007 to 2009. When you loose or run off back 75% of the past 2 classes, you become bad very quickly. It is truly amazing to see how a upper tier program can fall so quickly. This can happen to any program at any time.....

You got to believe it will turn, just simply buy more JACK BLACK

To clarify, Dooley & Co doing their best is not the same as the best that can be done.

i don't care how young we are, if we can't line up right it's the coaches

I'm not leaning either way, but two posters implied that it's the best that can be done and that's ludicrous.

Who (of the prospective coaches that we could have feasibly obtained) could do a better job and what exactly would that person(s) do to do so? How 'bout some constructive criticism for once if you got to spew negativity?

Why bother, when it appears that comprehension isn't part of your gig? If you want sunshine and ball washing, go elsewhere.

If there is an answer, why can't you provide it?

Is Kippy Brown a better option than Dooley?
I clearly said I wasn't leaning either way.

For my money, Kippy as an interim was a better option than making a hire with the worst possible timing imaginable.

Regardless, people tryig to imply what we've seen is the best possible are idiots.

And I'd say that people expecting much more from this team are idiots. Even though I think hopes for a 3-4 record by this point were somewhat reasonable.
