Funny how Dooley gets credit for recruiting a good class because of all the issues surrounding UT football, most of which are his fault to begin with.

MC, all in all it's just been a horrible time when it comes to our program the last few years and that's what it boils down to. I don't know what the future holds, but i hope it's something worth remembering.

Dooley is responsible for the bad season and most of coaching issues.

Dooley is also responsible for the good recruitiing class.

Sorry if ackowledging the good along with the bad affends all you Doolaid drinkers.

wrong.fulmer and kiffen are mostly to blame for the bad season.
dooley is partially reponsible for the recruiting class. as he said,he sells UTs brand more than anything

This is the biggest thing with most. I don't have a lot of faith in our HC right now, but i hope like hell he changes my mind. I like Dooley and his recruiting ability, i just hope he produces W's and sticks around for a while through coaching.

Yeah, Dooley did a horrible job of recruiting those 2008 and 2009 classes. I hate Dooley!

We can praise him for keeping this class, not an elite class, but IMO, a damn fine class. A majority of these kids had their LOI's signed and faxed before noon. These kids want to be Vols, and I think that the character they bring to this team will mesh just fine with CDD's first full class. As for coaching them up,,,Sunseri and Graham are going to have fun.

There is no hope for people like you that are still blaming Fulmer and Kiffin for Dooleys lack of coaching and motivational skills this past season. We lost to freaking KY and no other coach is responsible for it. PERIOD.

I hate when people make me out to be negative just because they are swimming in the Doolaid. I havent given up on Dooley yet, but to not even acknowledge his short comings is absurd. He has given us plenty of reasons to question whether he can get it done here or not and I think they deserve just as much attention as the things hes done well, such as recruiting. Im a UT fan and I still hope Dooley can get it done, doesnt mean Im going to close my eyes and just have blind faith that it will happen.

i agree the uk game is a game we should have won.all you have to do is look at our departing senior class to see the coaching changes created the situation.common sense really.im not saying dooley is good or bad but i do understand the situation he walked into

The uk game was the perfect storm. Get over it. UK has played UT damn tight the past couple of seasons, pushed us to overtime in 2009. These "young" kids were plum wore out from playing the most brutal schedule in the country. If Coach Dooley did anything wrong, it was not pulling Bray in the second half. Other than that, our underclassman were playing a team of upperclassman on their turf.

OK , so its your opinion that we didnt have enough talent to beat KY. We now know where you stand.

We had more talent, the problem was that they were all underclassmen. We didn't have the depth to compete after losing Hunter and Bray because our SOPH who should have been our backups were our starters instead. Bray was really bad in that game, but the guy had went about a month and a half without throwing a football. Unlike you, I'm not willing to fire a coach after two years because of 1 bad game.

The numbers game hurt is in the rankings. This class is gonna be the one that saves Dooleys a$$. Mark my words on that one.

Agree, think the signings of CP, McCullers, and McNeil are going to pay off HUGE for CDD. Especially with CP, he puts our 3 WR personnel in the elite category!

In Nick Saban's 4th year at Michigan St., the Spartans lost to Colorado St. at home to open the season and to a Minnesota team they had beaten 17 straight times (sound familiar?) finishing the season at 6-6 with no bowl. Had his team not won at tOSU late in the season that year, he would have likely been fired. After his 4th year there, his record was barely above .500 against much easier competition. Had Michigan St. not shown patience, a HOF coach may have never been born, or at best his rise would have been delayed significantly.

In no way am I comparing Dooley to Saban, just merely pointing out that when rebuilding a program from scratch, it takes time and patience and there will be setbacks along the way.

I'm happy with the recruiting class, all things considered. He's coaching the team at the school I love and does so with class, so he gets my support unequivocally. No excuses now. He obviously needs wins this year and I hope and believe that he'll get there. The past is in the rear-view. I'm excited for the future.

I have been very critical of CDD. I will give the man credit for the recruiting job he did this year. Losing most of the staff on defense could have ended up alot worse than just 2 LBs going elsewhere. The class is respectable and middle of the SEC in terms of ranking. CDD does need to finally do something with his 3 recruiting classes now. 5-6 wins in 2012 will just not cut it here any longer.

dooley supporter here: If UT wins 8 or 9 games this year is it coaching or are the players getting better. Heck if we won the National Championship some so called supporters would still complain. Bottom line, I am a HUGE UT follower, in the end its just a game, I love it when we win, and hate it when we lose, and no matter who the coach is I will support them.......
