This makes me really proud to be a Tennessee fan!! Way to go Vols fans!!!!

"We are certainly excited about the invitation, and I know our players are looking forward to the opportunity to compete against a great opponent," Dooley said. "This will be the fourth stadium that we play in in the state of Tennessee this year, and the support we've had at every stadium has been phenomenal. I know our fans will be there in full force in Nashville."

Memphis is a city in decay! Last year, my youngest son was interested in attending U of M. My wife and I were super concerned about the crime rate there, but lucky for us,
he chose to go to E.T.S.U.
Now, I sleep better at night!! There is a reason that Memphis is featured on the crime show, "48 Hours" It is because of its crime rate and because of its un-solved crime rate.

But where the city shines in the most unlikely of places. The number of homicides solved are high.

“Last years solve rate was since I’ve been in homicide was the highest we've had it was 94%,” said Miller.

Within the city limits in 2005 there were 153 homicides.
132 were solved.

In 2006 160 homicides.
149 were solved.

In 2007 164 homicides.
132 solved.

In 2008 168 homicides.
146 solved.

To me what sets Memphis apart is how few safe areas there are in Memphis. Every large city has parts that are unsafe and full of crime, shootings, etc. What makes Memphis extra special is that these are not balanced by the nice parts of town.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but most people working in Memphis commute from outside the city.

I wouldn't even stay at a hotel in that town. (Follow the link for details). :snoring:

I will be attending the University of Memphis next year and for those that don't know it is the safest college campus in the state of Tennessee that has more that 500 students enrolled. So yes parts of Memphis are bad but the campus and certain areas aren't.

avg. 160 murders.... hmmm doesn't matter to them now if they are solved or not... because they're dead... how many attempted murders and aggravated assaults(that means the real bad kind) were there?

Y'all heard that Southern California will drop off into the Pacific Ocean next big earthquake. Well, Memphis will drop off into the Mississippi. I sure will miss both of them. Not!
