Dooley and recruiting

North Carolina is one state that we really need to get back in and pull 4-5 per year. Hopefully, these new guys will help there. And I do think that Coach Jay Graham will help in both North & South Carolina

Amen! Graham, Shuler, Little, Bryson, just a few NC recruits that worked out for us.

...and please send the hostesses back to SC. Byrnes (Corey Miller) and Gaffney are just a few places with HS talent down here.

You can say what you want. But Dooley can recruit with anyone. I really do hope he is Tennessee coach for a long time. He is recruiting top 10 classes in the nation and we went 6-7 and 5-6 in the last two years. When we win 8 or 9 games this year, Dooley and his coaches will turn into a recruiting beast. I am starting to think he can recruit with Alabama and LSU. When you play for a national championship it is easy to recruit. Now with Dooley, Sal, Graham, Pittman, our recruiting will only improve and we will be back on top. You will see.
what top 10 we went from 16 to 19 currently on rivals. Quit just saying anything please.

I would like to see how he recruits after having a good season. Maybe we'll find out after next season.

#1 recruiting budget.

Glad it's not going to waste, but I'm not going to drink anymore Dool-Aid just because he's doing what every coach before him did. And yeah, I realize that Fulmer stopped recruiting well for the last three years when kids stopped believing in Tennessee. All that proves is what a joke he became.

He needs to win some games, hes not done that..well he won 6 his first year.5 his second,i think the talent is there, just needs to win some games.I like him but im not sold on him yet,he can recruit, but hes having a hard time winning, and thats a fact, not my opinion..This year it is win, or your gone..

I can't imagine why he would have any problems winning when he loses his top QB and WR, probably his two best offensive players, not to mention the lack of depth at every position. Better year this year for sure.

CPF slid a lot at the end of his tenure. He missed the top 15 3 out of his last 6 years and 2 out of his last 3. He certainly wasn't pulling top 15 classes year in and year out at that point.

Oh, but we want Fulmer back. The minions have spoken. Let's not get facts in the way of swooners. LOL.

I think this season will be a determining season for Dooley in many ways. It's reasonable to question his abilities as a coach, but I do think there will be a marked improvement. I hope for the sake of the team and the fan base this proves to be true.

This year is NOT win or he's gone either.

CDD will have at least 2 more seasons to show solid improvement because AD Hart is simply NOT a moron and does NOT want to start all over again and set our program back another 5 years.

Also nobody can name even 1 really good, successful coach that would risk setting back their coaching career to come to Tennessee next year and with as little $$$ as we can afford to pay right now thanks to Hamilton spending like barrak oDUMBa has.

CDD has done a pretty good job recruiting considering when he started and what a total disaster our program was when he took over.

I also believe his 1st batch of coaches was what he could put together on the fly while he was busy trying to hold our recruiting class together and going after some better recruits at the same time.

Now he's upgrading the coaching and recruiting staff to get even more improvements taking place.

I find no serious faults with CDD at this early time in his rebuilding process.

Im not sure recruiting was really a worry when he was hired. He has recruited well to a school that has recruited well before.

I agree with this. I think this is probably the first time he was able to "sit down" and really map everything out without worrying about just keeping players on the team. I also think that Hart wants consistency and stability in the program. At least then we could say, "we did it right, we took our time," and then we can fully evaluate Dooley and his abilities over a consistent period.
