My husband just searched the same thing and now there is nothing there saying that but I promise it was posted there earlier this afternoon. Sorry for the screw up.

It's Wikipedia, anyone can edit. I was once updated the Resident Evil page and put it was based on actual events in Memphis. It was only up a few minutes.

Wikipedia is as good as anything else on the internet. "Anyone in ther world can write what they want" true, but anyone can make a website, hell anyone can write a book. I'm a teacher, and I have no problem with my students using wikipedia as a source or for research. Honestly, it's as reliable as anything else on the internet. Now I'm not saying the stuff written about Gruden is true. I'm just saying wikipedia is not as bad as people think.

True, however, the college students that work for me just said yesterday that they thought it was a credible source to use when writing a paper. I explained that anyone can edit it and they just stared at me. The youth of America folks, youth of America.

You guys need to look closer at Wikipedia. Look at their FAQ page and you will find that they have far higher standards for sources than the journalism industry.
True anyone can edit it but it will not stay long unless strongly supported by cited and credible sources. They are even very picky about the types of sources that must be used. If it stays on Wikipedia for more than a day then it is probably true.

People can always create an account and troll it though they will be kicked and the information removed quite rapidly.

That is not true. Wikipedia is very picky about what stays.
