Just feel Ainge has a stronger arm, sees the field and secondary receivers better and hits the receiver he is throwing to more consistently.

Who starts may be a week to week deal but right now there is a 80/20 chance that its a two-headed monster again this year

If you don't trust my analysis beltway, how about a rebuttal. Did ya watch Tennessee play last year? I like what Rick did coming in at the end of the year but if Ainge hadn't made the mistake of picking up the dropped snap at the end of the first half Rick would have never seen any playing time. Not to mention the Vols wouldn't have lost the Notre Dame game because of an ill advised pass while under duress inside his own 20, IMO.

I'm still not sold on Clausen. Looking back at last season, he did well against the bad secondaries and poorly against the good ones. It wasn't because he didn't know where to throw it, it was mostly because the good secondaries were fast and the throws took longer to get to the WR's.

I thought he played well against Auburn - a team that had a very good secondary. He performed better against Auburn than Ainge did.

One of the reasons I back him so strongly.
No knock on Ainge, but I just think that Clausen deserves this. He deserves to start until it's OBVIOUS that Ainge can be measurably better.
