I'm gonna get the download started now and then try to get into it some in the morning. I hope its as good as I've been hearing.

I play it on my laptop, it's fun at first, but (to me) it gets boring the more you play. :compute:

I just saw it today on the dashboard. Details? What's the gist of the game? I watched the trailer but honestly that didn't help me much.

Basically its a survival/resource management game. You build tools/weapons, you chop wood, you mine for rocks & metals, you hunt and gather for food, etc. Obviously the more things you build the more skilled you get and can get more elaborate with the things you can make which goes further and further in helping you survive. There also enemies that come after you that you have to defend yourself against. I realize my description doesn't make it sound all that great but believe me, the game is very deceptively addictive.

Nah, nothing like Minecraft at all. The emphasis on this game is staying alive. It's all about survival, not building. It actually shares more similarites with RTS type games like War Craft and Age of Empires (minus the epic battles and population building) than it does with Minecraft.

survival....crafting....tools....enemies come out at night.... I know there's an absence of actual mining, but how is this not a minecraft ripoff again??

Just play it. Trust me, this is nothing like Minecraft. There is no emphasis on what you build here. You're not constructing buildings or digging moats or creating whole cities here. You are simply....surviving and seeing how many days in a row you can live.
