Don't know if true but I'm not happy...(Memphis St series)

LOL!

So the point remains, dont manipulate them, it was you not me. We have won 9 of the last 14 and you're scared to continue.

Way to skip over #2 completely!

SO, yes, we have been improving and playing better than at the beginning of the season. In Pastners first year this was not the case, and is still not the case this year.

UT has not needed this game and still dont. We have 6 or 8 that are and will still be bigger. The gnashing of teeth is because we want to continue to whip that ass and want revenge for this year! The way a real competitor thinks...none of that pansy scared BS!

Pastner going to burger king for lunch 2day...cluck cluck cluck

Pastner= 2-0 vs. Counzo. Spin proof.

You admittedly are ignorant on the subject, so why should I even discuss the merit's of Memphis' team with you?

Your ignorance continues my friend, not mine. Once again more mindless drivel pulled from thin air. Try picking one thing and offering an argument.

Lets start with rpi, your favorite! UT has never hurt memphis until this year maybe. UT's is usually higher than memphis like last year and the year before. So you cant be so dumb as to use this year as your only example anymore than I can use Pastners first year as a basis for what memphis will always be. So how is this a reason to quit the series? Neither team "needs" it correct? Then what are you scared of?

Who was UT's coach last season when UT's RPI was higher than Memphis'? The year before?

Ok, who is UT's coach now? Bruce Pearl isn't walking back through the door.

If UT doesn't need the series, then why are the UT fans so hot in the arse over it?

I'll reiterate. The power has shifted further into Memphis' favor. UT fans may not like it, but they'll have to live with it. Maybe we'll play you guys in Nashville for the Big East-SEC challenge.

And even more spin!

Once again,

Bold 1- You dont know what Martin will do and you cant base it off one year anymore than Pastners first year. Cal aint coming back anytime soon either, and Martin has a better shot at reaching Pearls level than Pastner reaching Cal's. You act like yall have improved this year.

Bold 2- Already answered this.....because we want to continue to whip that ass and Martin will. Plus we want revenge for this year. The way a real competitor thinks sissy!

Power hasnt shifted, however you denied it shifted in the first place. Pastner wont make it, Martin will! Dont forget we are the team that is improving as the season goes, not declining like memphis.

So once again, why are you scared to play the games?

Again, it's hard to take you seriously when you say Memphis is declining. Go look into our record and come back and talk to me.

Ok, Im back! Checked into your record. NO wins against ranked teams. How is this an improvement from the last two seasons?

Now answer some questions and stop running!

19-7, 9-2 in conference, tied for first (will be alone in first in not too long), projected as a 6-7 seed right now and climbing.

Sagarin, Kenpom, RPI and BPI all in the teens.

Staright cash homey.

Straight BS homey! Nobody asked that!

Now answer some questions. Why are you scared to continue to play UT?

Thats all pitiful by the way, and the reason half your fan-base is crying to fire Pastner is because they have not improved from the beginning of the year. Yet UT has and has even beat ranked teams. Far more improvement than Pastner showed his first year and since, seeing how you have yet to beat a ranked team. Now thats straight cash homey!

I'm shocked that so many UT fans care about this series the way they belittle Memphis, the University, and it's fan base.

A monkey could see that Memphis has improved, both from last season and over this season. Pastner has turned Barton into a Wooden award contender, and Barton looked lost last season.

You've beat A ranked team. Singular. Florida has Mike Anderson syndrome and is horrible on the road. You've also lost at home to Austin Peay, who is 9-18.

As for UT's improvement, they're a better team because they added a big time player. Who knows where UT would be if Stokes hadn't fell into Martin's lap.

I've explained why Memphis is no longer playing UT several times now. I've also told you that it's not my decision, personally I'd like to play you guys for another 5 years so we can take the series lead.

Why is that shocking? You don't expect us to want to have the opportunity to beat that high school every year?

I think ending the series is the best for both parties, UT fans feel that Memphis is inferior, yet Memphis fans want to move from under UT's shadow. I think the teams will play each other again once they realize they need each other. I'm just tired of the Tiger High/Blount College bickering, a grace period will prove to be vital for both programs.

Inferior to UT? Since when?

Most of us could not care less...we are the silent majority. Losing the Auburn / Tennessee yearly football game back in '91 (of whatever that year was) was a much much much bigger deal than dropping Memphis State in basketball and football. We never haven't played Memphis over any real extended period of time. On a few years, off a few years. If we play them, fine...if we don't, that is fine as well. I think it would be better if we started something regular with North Carolina or Clemson or someone to our east.

Everyone outside of Shelby County has a distaste for Memphis. Most Tennesseans would prefer the city submerged under the mighty Mississippi. I just find it odd that there's so much hatred towards the city, yet we expect recruits from the area to favor UT over their hometown. The University of Memphis is looking out for it's best interest by ending the series, just UT was looking out for it's best interest by backing out of the football games. Locking schools out of the Memphis metro area is another way for the school to control the battle for highly touted recruits. Rivalries end all the time, but as i said before the teams will play each other again.

I agree that UT could easily add another high caliber program to replace Memphis on it's schedule. Ending this series also doesn't require the Vol's to play anymore football games in Memphis, which would suck for the Vol's in the Bluff City. Nonetheless Win-Win for both programs IMO..........

exactly before conference play you were 9-5 not exactly getting off to the start that was expected, seeing as how you were supposed to be a top 10 team :eek:lol:

whats this the 3rd year in a row that pastner was projected top 15 and has yet to finish ranked? oh yea clearly showing consistent improvement, imo that would be consistent dissapointment.

its easy to "improve" on 9-5 when you get to run home and go play in a high school conference. i dont think i would really consider that improving, thats doing what your supposed to do, and the fact pastner even has 2 losses in c-usa says enough about his coaching abilitly.

6 or 7??? Mr. Bracketology, joe lunardi JUST moved them up to n 8, you can bet that one more loss in c-usa and they are right back to 11.

once again you were 9-5, before you ran home crying and had to pad your record some by playing in a church league conferece, sorry thats not improving.

memphis was 22-9(10-6) last year, you are currently 19-7(9-2) unless you win out i really dont see clear improvement from last year to this year. and in all honesty with the nba team that calipari, i mean pastner has over there the fact his record is even this is pathetic.

once again play in a big boy conference and you'd realize this. do you know what your record is vs top 100 rpi teams? 5-7

if you were in the sec you'd be playing 15 games against top 100 rpi teams? that would be a sec record of 7-9 with your track record of beating top 100 teams.

this would put your overall record at 16-14(7-9), sorry but youd be headed to the NIT :) must be nice playing in a rec league
