Don't just fire Bajakian, fire

OK showed everybody that our right tackle is suspect. UG and UF took notice. Something was amiss today. Hurd was out of rhythm, Worley was out of rhythm. It was good to see LP back on the field, but with Worley not clicking, oh well. I'm afraid that all the hits that Worley and Hurd have been taking are starting to show. Still have my sights set on a bowl game - GO BIG O!!!!! Dust off and fight again.

Exactly. And to those saying it's not a read option or zone read but simply looks like it....then WHAT IS THE POINT? Why are we taking an extra 2 seconds to hand the ball off to make it LOOK like a zone read that isn't a zone read? Does not compute.

It's pretty clear that Worley is a decent QB but doesn't fit the system. It's also pretty clear Dobbs is getting the redshirt this year because he does fit. He's your 3 year starter beginning next season.

I agree. I dont understand the logic behind running a read option that has no option. The play calling is terrible in my opinion also. Screens to the short side of the field, wide receiver screens galore, and under utilizing Jalen calls for somebody's head. Where was the wildcat inside the 20? Just don't understand the play calling. Maybe its just me. I died a little bit today though. A part of me died.

My apologies if I am wrong, but my recollection is the collapse of the weak (right) side of the line. I was thinking a back should have been in place to pick up the weak side pressure.

It doesn't really matter, but I believe the QB's blind side would be from the side of the line toward the QB's back - not his front.

At this point in the season you have to dance with who you brung to the ball.

The team is fine. The coaching staff is fine. It's going to take time. The fact that our expectations are so high at this early point as well as the hype associated with this game speaks to their performance to this point.

So we can tear them down, or support them and try to build them up. The only realistic goal for this season was to get to post season play. Not the freaking SEC championship, just POST SEASON PLAY. I don't care how they get there. I don't care how ugly it is along the way. Just get there. And that is still a realizable goal.

3 months ago we were looking at this game with some trepidation. The sheer fact that we had so many expectations says there has been noticeable progress.

Don't get me wrong, this game stunk for both teams. But, again, they are our team and I intend to support them. Let's see where we are at season's end. If we make post season play, mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.

I don't why we call it a read "option" if Worley NEVER pulls it and runs. If he just pulled it once in a while they would have to respect it and our RB might have a few more open lanes.

THIS. Why won't he run? I was expecting him run a few for first downs at OK. Then at GA. Then today. He could have picked up some key 1st downs in all three games with his legs. I don't get it.

Seems like we've been on the death penalty for 6 years

My dad was just saying the same thing. It's like we imposed our own death penalty and we just can't get out of it. That is a Fla team we should have beaten by 21 today.

It's all good. I can't remember all that happened on that play. I just remember seeing a blitzer that was going to have a wide open shot at Worley and thinking "Oh Sh*t, he's not paying attention."

I'm not trying to start an argument but I just watched the replay and it very much was pressure from the blind side untouched by the right side of our offensive line. It is a persistent weak spot and until that is fixed the offense cannot progress. Unfortunately, Worley will not stay healthy if this isn't corrected.

Not trying to start anything either, but since the pressure came from the right side that means it wasn't his blindside, right? Unless I've misinterpreted the meaning of blindside for my entire life.

this is just a dumb thread. the offensive line is awful, but everyone knew it would be. red zone playcalling has been abysmal this season, that's not Mahoney's fault.

A lot of that is on Worley, he can't read a deffence and doesn't see the blitz coming. That's why he is always getting hit in the back.

Takes longer than 2 seconds to read a DEFENSE & they get to him even when they don't blitz.

I knew the OL wouldn't be world beaters, but to see such a vast difference in improvement between our OL and DL is not promising.

That's true on the straight rush sacks, but 2 of the fumbles on Worley were when he was blind sided by a blitzing corner off the end.

He knows it's coming because our line is breaking down on about every play. He can tuck the ball every passing down or try to force his delivery before the rush gets to him and this leads to fumbles and interceptions. The alternative is going with a power rushing offense but we do not have the horsepower on the line to open holes so that will not work and will wind up getting a freshmen back hurt in the process.

That has nothing to do with what I was talking about. Yeah he knows a pass rush is coming, but I'm talking about the 2 plays he fumbled on, one this game and one in the Ga game, when he was blind sided and never saw it coming. Reading a deffense and kniw the blitz is gonna come from the edge by a corner in on him.

The line definitely has issues, but the fumble on the sack is at least partially Worley's fault. He should have seen the sack coming.

Right, QB must read defense and see blitz and be ready to run or throw quickly. One of best gameplans was when kiffin was rolling crompton and burning uga in 09. He didn't get touched much that game... Get creative!!!
