We are 7-5 and our biggest win was Georgia. Am I missing something here??

We are the 2nd place team in the East. If we fall behind Georgia, Auburn, and even Kentucky in the bowl selection process, we have been screwed. Also, we are jockeying for position in a bowl with teams that we either beat head to head or finished ahead of in the standings. There are a lot of 7-5 teams in the SEC.

UT has "unofficially" already accepted the invitation according to someone who's tied in with the dome.

I understand that but, the SEC East is weaker than cat manure with the exception of Florida. People have been on here crying about the Outback for days. Auburn beat us! Get over it. Like you said, the SEC has many 7-5 teams. The bowls should be allowed to take who they want. These bowl game committees aren't ignorant. They will bring in who they think will make them money. Outside of upper east TN and southwest Va, a TN/Va Tech matchup means nothing. Nobody else will care.

That is obviously what the bowls think. If they get to take whichever team they want then why keep score at all? We beat every team in the east aside from Florida. There is no excuse if one of them goes ahead of us. Besides what the bowls think will get them money... That part is a total disrespect for our program's ability to draw fans and a slap to our fans themselves. Of course, none of us care that aren't in upper East Tennessee or Southwest Virginia. Right.

Well, obviously I meant anyone outside upper East TN or SWVA that is not a Vol or Hokie fan.

If the CFA bowl wants to do what is best for them, they will put UT and VT in their bowl game. Our fan base would be more excited and more willing to travel and spend money than UGA's. Right now, thanks to Kiffin, UT also has way more national attention than UGA. I think people out in California would be more interested in watching UT play than UGA.

Shaft us , and let us go to the Music City bowl. (maybe I'm biased since I live in nashville).
On second thought you may be right. Our presense in the music city bowl may give us a recruiting base for Nashville and Middle Tennessee.......Do names like Golden Tate, Patrick Turner and Donte Hightower ring a bell?

compared to the ATL/GA? No if we get screwed into a Music city Bowl it's most definitly going to hurt our recruiting. MCB is played on DEC 27th Nobody cares about that game

Besides this, the CFA wants to see as many hotel rooms get sold as possible in Atlanta. With one of the teams from instate, that is much less likely to happen. I have heard that the appearance of GT there last year only solidified this.

The game will sell out regardless of who they select. The larger economic factors should control in this instance given the financial conditions of the Atlanta hospitality market. It is a very popular bowl due to the timing and the location. Atlanta is a fun place to spend NYE.

I am already looking forward to bigorange's tailgate at the yellow lot!
