This was the first year in a while that every position coach came back. Many people have forgotten this. We need some stability in our program. We are getting better, give this team and coaching staff time to get it together. The last thing we need is for dobbs or peterman to have to learn a new system next year. The Oline is getting better. But, except for maby Jackson and the maby freshmen. They don't have the talent to play sec ball. And besides jackson none of them have experiance. Later in the year, they will be better. But until we have an Oline that is atleast average we can not get mad at the play calling or worley when both show signs of great improvement. Alot of the Dlinemen from Oklahoma, UGA, and UF will play on sundays.

Anything worth being a part of is hard.

It's hard to watch a team we've seen be great be in the dumps.

It's hard to wear orange all the time while other fans give you sh!t about games.

It's hard to sit in neyland and watch our team find a way to lose.

But

It's gonna be so worth it, in the future when you look back and can honestly say you supported Tennessee during a historicly bad period. And watched Butch bring us back to our winning ways.

Go Vols!

I agree 100% white65! We as a fan base must stop hitting the panic button every time this young team does not meet our expectations! I hate losing a game that we should have obviously won by at least 10 points, but we are a much improved team and headed in a great direction! GBO! VFL!

To all you VOL fans living in TN - yes I feel your pain about wearing this shirt or that blah blah. It sucks, I know.

But try living here in FL for the last 10 years. Wearing orange gets you into fights as the Muschamp like mouth and arrogance was long part of the Gator nation before he got here. I cannot go outside without some pile of gator crap running his mouth. "We own you (fill in your favorite set of expletives here)".

Yea, I get it. But living here is a whole new dynamic. This one hurts indeed and for us FL based VFLifers, this is damn near unbearable for the next 12 months. I do my best to sport orange, but its hard to keep out of situations where my orange turns into a jump suit while picking up trash on the side of I-95. Though at times it might actually be worth it :)

Rest of your assessment is solid.

Mahoney is the only coach you could even consider replacing at years end, and he's been with CBJ every where he's been a head coach so him getting fired doesn't seam realistic at this point. The real issue is that our fan base has no understanding of what we are trying to do on offense. We delay run plays for a reason. We throw a lot of screens for a reason. The reason? We don't have an o-line. We have to allow the defensive ends to collapse outside so that holes will open up for our RBs between the B and C gaps. We can't man up 1 on 1 on our o-line and win matchups. That drastically limits what you can do on offense. We have to handicap ourselves on obvious passing plays by keeping a RB or H-back in the back field to help block. Teams know we aren't going to throw to a RB in the flat on a 3rd and 15 because we can't block down field well enough to gain a first down. We also don't have a scat back that can be a threat on HB screens, etc. Hopefully Scott can come in and make an impact soon. Our fan base is delusional and has very little understanding of the real issuses at hand. There is no quick fixes that will help our Vols. Almost every idea people throw out there is either not feasible or has been tried to some form without success. I've heard over and over that we need to throw short passes down the middle of the field. Well, that'd be logical if our WRs could get speration off the line, and if teams weren't locking down the middle of the field with LBs. There's not one team we will play from here on out outside Saturday's game that's going to respect our run game. We aren't going to have teams stack 8 in the box against us, and we can't take advantage of this because our o-line can't win matchups and create holes. Our o-line limits everything we can do, and until it's fixed it'll continue to be this way.

While I am encouraged that this coaching staff/team have been giving us chances to win, at some point we should expect better results. I am not a coach, nor ever played the sport, so I will not question schemes, plays, or who should be doing what. I will, however, expect at some point to win more often than losing.

We have seen Alabama, Auburn, Florida, and Georgia go through bad times, but were able to right there ship within a couple of years. The SEC has had its greatest run of championships over the last 10 years, but Tennessee has not remotely been part of the conversation. We all know the problems we have had over this time period, but there comes a time when enough is enough!

I am willing to give Butch Jones a pass this year while he brings in another top notch class of players. Next year is a different story. This time next year, he will have an experienced Offensive Line! Next year, he will have experienced Wide Receivers! He will have an experienced Tight End! His Running backs should be fantastic! He will have a 3rd year QB that has been in his system since he arrived to coach at Tennessee. If
Coach Jones decides to keep Bajakan or bring in somebody else, the results fall on his resume!

The defense has been good enough to win this year and with a few more additions and additional experience, they should be good enough to win next year!

I anticipate and expect next years team competing for the East division championship! The East is down and we should be able to compete. I don't know if we can make a bowl this year nor even a winning record, but there is NO EXCUSES that I will accept next year! If he has another losing year in 2015, then Butch Jones is not the answer! I support him and hope he can get it done, but the manner in which we lost the Florida game is unacceptable and raises some doubt. Ask yourself, would Malzahn lost that game? How about Freeze? No, the way Florida handed Tennessee the game, those coaches would have throttled them with Tennessee's current players.

Again, I give him a pass this year no matter what happens the rest of the year, but 2015 is on Coach Butch Jones.

But its not a read option per Butch Jones.

Who the hell knows what it is.

The only thing Vol fans know for sure is that Butch's offense doesn't work for the Vols, maybe next year or the year after next?

All vol fans know is that if we lose a couple of close games someone need to be fired or benched. And that is not the case here. Lets give butch and everyone else on the team a chance to finish the year out before we flip on them.
