This is a very impressive class. Two contrasting QB's, one of which will play another position as well. Size and speed at the LB position. 2-3 burners out wide. On tape, what looks to be aggressive, athletic offensive linemen, and IMO the best DL haul in several years. Couple of DB's that could have signed with anyone. Maybe a true "stud" running back is all that's missing.

Def a solid class considering the year we had. Seems to me that, true to form for a man of Pruitt's background, we will be a strong defensive team based on the talent we are bringing in. The overall skill at all 3 levels of the D will soon be competitive IMHO. I still would like to see more elite talent on the offensive side before I predict any Championship contenders.

This class is OUTSTANDING at filling the holes in our roster. Last years class was so good at filling holes that we won 6 out of our last 7 games. With only 63 kids. That means the teams we played had 22 more kids than us. ...1 for EVERY position on both sides of the ball...and we STILL beat them.

Amazing job by CJP. Great strategy and execution. This guy can flat out recruit.

This class feels like it is building to something doesn’t it? Butch would always get starry eyed and would take kids just to boost the class ratings. It worked, at least on signing day but left huge holes in our roster. I truly feel Pruitt looks what are team needs and could care less about recruiting rankings. It is kind of like Belichick. Not my favorite coach but he always drafts the guys he needs, not the flashy guys. That is why he wins.

Right now I would say we are tied with UF for the 2nd best class in the East. Still trail UGA by a mile but so does everyone else in the East. Gotta start in our division first and work our way forward. Hopefully we can upset them in the next year or two like USCjr did.

Next year. And then we lose to them no more.

What do you mean "With only 63 kids?"

We may have two stud Rb’s in Hodge and Whitehead.

Orange-colored glasses maybe, but IMO, we've never had more underrated players in a class in recent memory. So many of our 3-stars feel like they should be ranked much higher (Hodge, Spraggins, Slaughter, Holiday). Think Morven Joseph was also a 3-star on 247 until very recently, but now he's upgraded to a low 4-star. Also wasn't Hyatt a 3-star for a long time (which seems completely insane)?

Like I said ... could be orange-colored glasses on my part, but just feels like a much higher percentage of our top recruits are underrated by the services this year.

You do have orange colored glasses no doubt, but I sure do hope you’re right.

You must have not done much research on the team during your 22,000 posts!!! 63 was the roster number for 2019.
No, I didn't. So, with 63 scholarship players on the '19 roster and subtract the Seniors and other transfers, isn't UT in a similar spot going into 2020?

Let's look at scholarship numbers

I think we are at 66 now (after taking off the seniors and transfer portal)... but I am not good at keeping up with the numbers.

Edit well smokeyz1 said we had 79 on scholarship this past season.

Hopefully Whitehead becomes that stud RB. At 6'2 228lbs he might end up being our bell cow

That makes sense but VolsGrad1989 seems confident UT went into this season with only 63 scholarship players...which doesn't make a lot of sense.

If that's the case then UT should be able to sign 40 players.
