Donovan to make more than Meyer?

Yeah I was trying to keep it conservative. It's probably closer to 4 times, particurally if you figure in alumni donations.

There's more than one way to look at that. The basketball program at UF has become a rather large cash cow in its own right over the last few years. The football program will remain a massive cash cow regardless of who the coach is. So, relatively, Donovan is worth more. He has also been there for 11 years and has one more national title than Meyer. And, the difference is only $0.25 million/year.

Yeah, I'd love to make $250,000 per year. But, for coaches making millions, I don't think that difference is a big deal.

Apparently one more national championship is only worth $250K to Florida.

Foley had some comments about this, and said they had to include the knowledge of offers from Kentucky and Orlando into their offer. When Meyer gets offers from the NFL, I'm sure his will jump.

Good point. I forgot about that. Also, on the tax note, there is no state income tax in Florida, but they do obviously pay federal taxes.

I hope BP's contract will be good enough for him. Last year they did the offer by what they thought he would finish and that was 3rd or 4th in the East so that's what they paid him. This year they hope for 1st in the East. I wonder how that's going to work out.

it's going to work out to about 1.4 million a year. one hell of a bargain.

Billy Donovan has been at Florida a lot longer than UM, so UM has no reason to complain about 250K.
