Donnie Tyndall Thread

Tyndall's the best fit at Tennessee. He has a better resume than White, but the whole point of White was that his potential is seemingly unlimited. We know what we're getting with Tyndall, but we'd be getting a guy who is a winner and a fierce promoter. Once they get over the whole "OMG who is this guy how do I Google" phase, Tennessee fans will embrace him and his personality.

From Tyndall's time at LSU. I know those guys were legit recruits.

Tyndall's recruiting expertise was on display again at LSU. While with the Tigers, he helped recruit three classes that were ranked in the Top 20 nationally. The 1998 class was listed as high as third, and the 2001 recruits were ranked eighth. Among his recruits at LSU, three went on to play in the NBA and five received All-SEC honors. Five of his Tigers players also went on to garner Academic All-SEC awards.

Tyndall also continued to show his commitment to academics at LSU. As the program's academic coordinator, he helped improve the team's GPA from 1.7 in 1996 to 2.65 in 2001.

But wrong. Southern Miss graduated 5 seniors and 3 juniors transferred when Eustachy left.

It's Tyndall's roster that he's winning with.

Yeah, I'm not sure why people are giving it to Eustachy here. He made USM relevant in hoops again, but the bulk of the roster is Tyndall.

People: he RECRUITED Kenneth Faried, then won with him. It's not like Faried magically appeared on his roster one day like Tyndall was creating a player on NBA 2K.

From dudes picture. Looks like he wears spray on tan. Reminds me of a certain Jewish coach that took us to 6 NCAA tourneys in 6 years! Hmmmmmm

Don't forget he recruited Demonte Harper as well. Made the game-winner over Louisville in NCAAT, all-OVC first team, was a 2* recruit from Nashville. I think he knows talent when he sees it

One of the biggest pluses for him in my book is his willingness to promote. That is the typ of coach that can flourish at UT. Mears and Pearl were both good coaches, but they were great promoters.

I get that I'm shilling for him a bit much right now, but having watched Tyndall-coached teams the last few years he's a definite upgrade over CCM. I can't recall a moment where his group looked lost on the floor. Very well-coached and well-disciplined players having fun, which is how basketball should be.

Haha I was about to do an open call for you to come in here and post your thoughts, considering you'd know Tyndall's teams better than all of us
