Donations for Family of Fallen VOL

The Mrs. and I made our donation. Thanks for putting this together Doc. Thoughts and prayers with the family and friends.

Huge crowd, I've known him for several years and he was a great guy,and I appreciate this fund raiser. Joy, his Mother, father passed away this morning from a long illness, so this family needs alot of prayers.

Joy Grubb's Father, Neil, passed away this morning.

In the span of four days she has lost a son and her Father.

Joy was able to see Neil and tell him about Isaac before he passed.

Joy's Mother told me tonight that Isaac had stopped by the UT Hospital to see Neil 3 times last week, and the last time when he left Isaac said "see you after the ballgame".

I absolutely got chills when she told me this...

God has a plan.

Sincerely,

Buddy Lee

The amount of support I saw in that church tonight was overwhelming, Buddy. Your family has unending support, and the Vol Nation stands with you. Please let us know if we can do anything to help you.

In my humble opinion, the money being raised isn't the point and neither is the circumstances behind the accident. This is a kind gesture from an extended family of VOLS. Deeds of love and kindness are all equal to the great commandments. It is also a way for those of us who want to help but do not know how. It is part of the healing process for all of us.

Speaking from personal experience a mother and father never intend or ever dream of burying their son. It does something good for the soul to see such an outpouring of love from strangers.

It has never been touted before, but because VOL fans are orange blood brothers through and through is the reason why I believe the University of Tennessee has the best 12th man in the country.

Well said, Well spoken .

This really got to me as I read about it. Donation sent...

As already stated it's not about the money, but a gesture to reach out in someones time of loss and grief to show support.

My own recent personal loss has taught me that even modest funerals are now in the 14k range.

I only hope that something can be done to retrofit/upgrade the facility to prevent this tragedy from happening again........I also have children that may be inclined to visit there in the future.

Just donated. Issac was only 1 year younger than me. It really hits home how quickly someone's life can change. Football really isnt that important in the end. RIP Issac.

Thanks to the OP for organizing this. As a father, I cannot imagine losing my child. I feel for his family. They are in my thoughts and prayers.

Anyone who has ever gone to a college football game, anywhere, in support of any team, would surely view this young man as a kindred spirit. Donation sent. Our rivalries are petty under such circumstances.

You're a good man lawgator; I take back anything bad I've ever said against you (until next week).

Wow, I know who this is only because it lists the name of the person donating when it goes into the account and notifies me. I won't share your identity, but I want you to know how proud I am of you. Outstanding, young man!

Volnation,

Thank you. Especially those that are fans of competing teams.

I'd like everyone to know that Isaac was an organ donor.

His major organs were too damaged to donate. However he did donate his corneas, skin and bone marrow.

Great comfort comes from knowing that someone is seeing better, some burn victim may heal better, and some cancer patient may be able to live or at the least live longer because Isaac cared...

Thanks to all, espcially Dr. Bowling...

Sincerely,

Buddy Lee

Just bumping the thread Vol Nation. We're doing good with donations but we could really use more attention if you can share the link with your friends. We're collecting until the end of the month. Come on Volunteers!
