I am obviously not a donor if I am asking this question but curious as to what the minimum donation would be to have even a minor level of input to the AD and admin? Guessing it is $1M or more annually but would think anyone donating in the six figure range would get more than a thanks and season tickets.

Thoughts?

Go to the recruiting forum. Start a Paging Bald_Biker thread.

Tell him you'll buy a bourbon of his choice for the answers you seek.

To have any influence for Admin and AD you'd have to be a big dog, yes millions. Haslam, Manning, John Thornton, Charles Ergen, Campbell, Charles C. Anderson Jr., Charley Brinkley, Min Kao, John Tickle, Stokely.

Just for example: For Skyboxes you are looking at a $53,000 to $60,000 donation annually PLUS $12,000 for the season tickets.

I am confident that it takes big money - mid 5 doesn't seem to get you squat, except you are higher on the ticket and parking lists. Yea

I forgot about the boxes - so low 6 figures can get you very little. They will not know you or your name.

I think they pretty much do their own thing with the exception being .... those people listed on top here.

Yes - There is also the awful food - more so at basketball than football games but neither much to write home about. Don't get me started on the hotdogs.

I think it is a misnomer to describe it as catered, I think better described as institutional food. I think they keep the best food in their box.

Sorry...I’ll have to disagree on the food. Been up there several times with a close friend and the food and service are wonderful. THe ice cream box alone is something to write home about....

I have to sdisagree on the football buffet. Every game has a theme menu. There is always a salad station, a hot dog station, a luncheon meat/ sandwich station, a dessert station plus ice cream box. The hot line has rotating items such as shrimp cocktail, sliders, jambalaya, wings, roast beef, pork loin, etc. the dessert station always has 3/4 types of cookies and then a specialy like brownies, cobblers, puddings, etc. a soft drink bar w/ coffee and hot chocolate. Not a bad spread which is themed on a game basis.

If you're willing to donate 6 figures I promise you'll be taken care of. Do you have a seat at the head table, no. Do you have input, no. But your ego will get stroked.

Been in a box for a few games at different stadiums. It’s more about controlling the environment and most are held by companies who use them for business

So I guess my 2 cents doesn't amount to much.

yall dont get it, everyone in those boxes donate through a company then write it off. those donors arent blue collar nor is it coming out of their pocket when the tax man comes. when the tax bill passes this month, those donations will stop because they are being excluded from deductions. all schools who live off donations are in for a rude awakening. as it should be.

Funny you mention hot dogs.

At the OU b-ball games this year, the past three or four games the Club service has been providing hot dogs for the patrons as a pregame meal. There's been other stuff like tacos or Philly Cheese Steak, but hot dogs are a constant so far.

I might demand a refund.

Correct. I've given $30,000-$100,000 per year for the past 8 years. A few weeks ago I received a letter from UT (form letter than many other donors received) asking me to contact my elected officials to encourage them to vote "no" on the tax bill or at least that part of it. I have friends that went to and donate to LSU, U of Oklahoma, U of Utah and U of Washington who received similar letters. About that time Ii read an article by the AD at LSU who estimated that if passed it would reduce donations a very large amount......I think he said $50,000,000 per year.

I know for a fact donating upwards of 2 million gets you a skybox a lot of signed merch and a parking spot right next to the stadium...
