That pretty much sucks. Jeez, they might start combing the hallways for linemen.

Once again people, here is an example of a player running their mouth before getting to campus and then never playing a meaningful snap. I remember watching his video on Rivals where he said he would be a Freshman AA. Time to put up or shut up, and it's long overdue.

Fact is we are not going to be very good next year. 7 or 8 wins is not very good to me.
So we might as well weed out all the players not putting the effort needed and get some young talented prospects next year.

Maybe this will weed out the screw ups before they sign with us and waste our time and scholarships!

That's supposing, say, we recruit all top guys who are able to contribute immediately...which usually doesn't happen

what seems to usually happen is lots of cuts causes a depth bubble in experience/readiness to take the field between older starters and still too new backups, which takes like an extra year to weed out

is that like the housing bubble?

Sorry, i have a hard time putting it into words. :)

It's like when you have a bunch of good junior and senior players as starters, but your next line of players are freshman who will be good in a few years but aren't quite ready for college play just yet...

so like if your starters get hurt, you dont really have the backups who are ready to play yet....it's really hard to explain....maybe like no real depth b/c most of the players in line are really young...

Are you looking for the phrase 'experience gap'?

we might as well scrap next season while we're at it...
