It’s foolish to make this kind of decision before interviewing all available/interested parties. If this decision is made before that happens, then I’ll be the first to tell you it’s because the Haslam’s have forced the hire... I’m not saying Brohm’s not the guy, but without at least interviewing a Sumlin, Miles, Martin, etc. how would you ever know that one of that for a fact? One of those other candidates could blow you away with their ideas and coaching scheme in the interview, but you’ll never know if you don’t at least sit down with them... This is very foolish and very irresponsible!

Did you think your post was so profound that it deserved it's own thread?

If it were anyone else, I would agree with you. But if he’s saying this, then yes it does deserve its own thread. Don’t be disrespectful just to be disrespectful.

Interviewing all parties is the RIGHT THING TO DO...
It just wasn't done apparently, or it was halfassed

Blowing you away with ideas instead of an actual record is how you end up with Currie instead of Blackburn. Interviews should just be a formality in a coaching search. If you're expecting to get anything huge out of an interview, you're focused on the wrong things.

Just host a UT head coach job fair and see who shows up. Do it at West Town Mall.

I agree with the interview part of your comment, particularly with your top three candidates.

You already should have scouted their coaching style and success before you need to hire them.
