Drama. It's all about the drama with these kids. Frankly if he isn't 100%+ for UT, then leave and go somewhere else. And don't let the doorknob hit you in the azz when you leave.

Kirkland needs to put an end to this crap. Either stay and be a Vol or go and be with another team. Regardless of the decision, make it and let Pruitt know. Then make a public statement about the decision. This is ridiculous.

Kirkland thought about changing schools; he sat down with his parents and CJP, and decided to stay. Period.

This latest bit of the "on again, off again" drama is entirely created by pseudo-journalist John Adams, unless you saw DKJr do or say something in the last few days that we didn't?

Otherwise, this isn't on Darrin. Direct your ire at Adams, not him.

He finally has the defensive coaches and S&C staff to excel to the next level.

If he decides to leave it should be because he got passed over by better players which would only happen IMHO if he hasn't fully recovered from his injuries.

Why does he have to make a public statement? As long as he's communicating with CP and staff, we'll find out in good time.

The idiot Knoxville "journalists" are doing all they can to get clicks and sell subs. So if that means drubbing up half-assed stories, then that's what they'll do and it's on the reader if they fall for it.

So get upset if you want, but Kirkland doesn't owe any of us anything.

How about something like, "all the rumors of me transferring are false. I am staying at Tennessee." Again, whats wrong with that? At least the would completely shut down idiots from reporting otherwise and getting some fans bent out of shape.

Sure, but it's not his job to police the actions of idiot reporters, or the feelings of fans.

Look, Bruce Springsteen needs to manage his image. And Senator Insert Namehere. And Coach Jeremy Pruitt. And even professional athlete Alvin Kamara. They've put themselves formally in the public eye, they're professional entertainers or public servants, keeping us informed of their situation is an obligation they've accepted.

Student-athletes aren't there yet. They're college kids. They have a reasonable expectation to a degree of privacy when they're not on the playing field. And they certainly don't owe us, or the media, updates on the various activities and decisions of their lives off-field.

So sure, he could. But he doesn't owe you that. Or me. Or anyone. And so it's wrong of us to get on a fan board and ask it of him. Or expect it of him. Or, certainly not, demand it of him.

Blame John Adams for rustling up your concerns. That's where the fault lies, not with Darrin.

Wasn't Kirkland on Twitter the start of all this? He is an adult, in the public eye as a college football player at a Big 5 institution, who forfeited at least a degree of privacy concerning this issue when he went public with it.
