Dolphins "future in Miami bleak"

If there was a city and fanbase that deserved to lose a team it's Miami.

But... owners like that are pathetic. Despite being billionaires, they're so greedy they expect the city to help maximize their profits by making the place nicer. It's not the fans responsibility to pay for the stadium other than through buying tickets. Worst of all, some of those people don't even watch sports. I would be pissed to think they're taxing money out of my pocket to renovate a place I'll never visit and helping a billionaire make more money. Taking money from people who are struggling to get by and using it to support a meaningless game is jacked up.

"At this time we have no intention of investing more."

See, that right there is jacked up. These people live in a different world than us to be making comments like. If people like us own a business, we can't just decide we don't want to sink anymore money into it and expect the city to step in and give us money, ridiculous. Nobody made this guy buy an NFL franchise. If he can't foot the bill then maybe he should sell it to someone who can.

Seriously, it must be nice having so much money that you can buy an NFL team for a toy.

I've been to games in that stadium, and I would venture to say that there might have been 30,000 fans attending the games. I hope Miami calls him out on his bluff and let's him move the team elsewhere.

Somebody will be in LA by 20...17? right?

The league doesn't want a team in LA. Then they would lose all the bargaining power that has led to tax payers helping boost the value of several franchises.

Seems to be an ongoing issue in Miami, especially with the Marlins announcing they are going to start closing the upper deck for games due to poor sales.

You mean the other teams don't want a team in Miami. The league definitely does; Goodell has made that overly clear.

I thought the NFL actually got higher ratings in LA after the Rams and Raiders left.

I agree, they want a team in LA, probably 2. I also think they don't really want any existing team moving either.

I used to care about this stuff until I grew up; now I don't give a crap if any team leaves. Even if the Titans left I wouldn't care.

Why would a Miami citizen give a darn about helping out a professional sports franchise? It sure worked well with the Miami Marlins, didn't it?
